UPS connected to a Step-down transformer
« on: Sun, 07 June 2015, 04:14:23 »
Is it safe to connect a UPS to a step-down transformer? Was thinking of buying a 70'' Vizio E series tv(because of 4k 1080p has become much cheaper) but it only supports 120V(Live in a country that works with 220v) and I confirmed with a representative. Many years ago, I've used a step-up converter(120v to 220v) but not sure if bad luck but my TV died in a few months. So I was considering connecting a UPS to a step-down converter to be safe but not sure about things I should watch out for such as amps and VA.

Um.... doesn't matter if it's step up or step down.. get a REALLY big converter, and you probably won't have any problems.

It's those hand size boxes that are finnicky.
