Still haven't played the previous games, but I'm nevertheless intrigued.

Dunno much about it, but Mite B. Cool. Any reason enough for me to get the games installed on Steam and play them.

I'm more interested in the FF X remake, one of my all time favorite and most memorable games. :D

Haha yeah it's hard to keep track of all the FF games now-a-days with. :p

I never had so much fun before on a PS2 game, once FF XI came out I was so disappointed it didn't even compare for me.

from what i understand, that half-life 3 thing was debunked, but everything else seems like it'll be coming out. the last time there was a leak 24/30 things were released.

on the topic of half-life 3 though, i can understand why valve hasn't released it yet. when they originally released half-life they had the intent of becoming their own online video game vendor and figured they'd grow from there. most of their releases after that were to further push their platform. they've always planned to transition from being a developer to being more of a business, so unless somehow releasing half-life 3 is gunna help them push some sort of new market on to the public, it's gunna stay under their hat. weird that it isn't being utilized for their new hardware stuff though.

in marketing sense they should have released it bundled with the whole Steambox/Steam controller hype. Those items were big news from them and HL3 would have been an epic bundle to sell units...

they dropped the ball

Yup, maybe along with the HTC Vive release, though? That would be pretty cool. HL3 VR experience :)

After all of the hype I dont think it will ever live up to it. I can remember when the original was released and how awesome it was. Then half life 2 came out and I took 3 days off school to play it and was completely satisfied. They would have to do something incredibly ground breaking to make it any where near what everyone is expecting it to be.

It will be the continuation of the story.  People will buy it just because of that.

I want to find out what happened to Eli.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I absolutely agree and will be buying it no matter what but I feel if they don't do something groundbreaking it will not be what everyone was expecting. Be it graphical, VR, physics or whatever, something has to set it apart in typical half life fashion.

It's certainly being made despite Valve choosing not to acknowledge it but how close we are to a finished product is too difficult to know. They are probably releasing HF3 in correlation with some new technology e.q. gfx engine or whatever..

Well,  you're only speaking for us,  but not for the "kids of TODAY"

we were kids and much easier to please back when hl1 and hl2 came out.

It takes alot more to be cool and impressive today.. to old guyzus like us.

But to the 14-18 somethings , they'll be just as happy with halflife 2.5

Sorry I also wish I had some insider info to share ;D I remember a friend of mine who bought the HL2 collectors edition packed in a glossy, metalic box. A headcrab hat was also included along with T-shirt and neat poster... the hype was so real.

Name of the new game engine: Speculation.

Actually that would be a pretty cool name for a game engine :D
