Butt muscles

So....  Wouldn't it be more ergonomic.. if we all just had more natural cushion ?


Anyone successfully trialed some effective Glute exercises ?



Update:

I've been doing the butt crunches for ~3 weeks now.

Definitely seeing some more poof-ness

I would post pictures, but obviously I am not of the gender type where it'd be appropriate.

Feet straight forwards, get your thighs so they are just below horizontal. Start with no weight and your arms either crossed with your fingers touching your collar bones, or arms out in front of you for balance.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Butt muscles are overrated.

What you really need is to strengthen the sh*t out of your penis muscles like in Sex and Zen 2.

It ain't the force behind the poundage it is the hardness of the pile driver that counts, and the rhythm and finesse etc.

So do your bench presses, cock exercises, and pushup and core muscles too (kegels)

Since I started doing some bike on a regular basis, I discovered some new aspects of my ass. Mainly, I discovered we had sit bones and that they are the part where you want to sit (put most of your pressure).


Here's a very interesting article on choosing a bike saddle, where it explains how the pressure is distributed and what to avoid. While it is very bike oriented, some basic concept can apply. The main thing to remember from this article is that you don't want/need much cushion and you definitely not want to have pressure on your soft tissues.

As for my own experience, I went from the state where I didn't have a bike for around 20 years to a state where I bike 5 days a week (I now commute to my job with my bike) and after a few days my ass got used to a stiff saddle and I recently got a new saddle, even stiffer but with a miraculous cutout that is saving my "thing" from going numb. That's not a nice sensation but now is something of the past!


Also, the human body tends to adapt itself based on it's usage. If you don't have bigger ass muscle, it's simply cause you don't use it enough for your body to decide to invest there! So move you're ass if you want it more firm. But more cushioned? Nah, no need for it if you get in the right position.

If you are serious about building your glutes, quads and hamstrings, Google "Smolov squat routine" and go do it. It is one of the most proven and effective programs for adding muscle mass between your belly button and your knees.  Also google "surviving Smolov" for some extra pointers.

If you want a bigger more muscular ass, squat ATG (ass to grass) with this program and you will get it.  You will also get a really strong core, quads and hamstrings.

I'm in the Smolov program now, doing it ATG this time (first time I did it to parallel, got my squats to 405 which is decent for an old man)... it starts off easy, gets hard, gives you a 2 week deload, and then it tries to kill you.  Totally worth it though.  Squat gains between 50 and 130 lbs have been reported.  You will need to eat A LOT in order to recover.

If you are of body type mesomorph then you should take some kind of protein supplement after working out such as whey protein isolate.

If you are an ectomorph then you will need loads of protein and carbs to put on muscle mass.

You are sitting on your bony tail bone so shift from side to side once in a while - might take years for the pain to go away otherwise.
