So I've got a small home server I bought 4 years ago, messed with it a few times here and there and just got it out of storage were it has been for over a year.
The specs are as follows
HP ProLiant N40L MicroServer
AMD Turion II Neo N40L (1.5GHz)
AMD RS785E/SB820M chipset
Two (2) DIMM slots with 8GB RAM Installed
Embedded AMD SATA controller with RAID 0, 1
Embedded AMD eSATA controller for connecting external storage devices via the eSATA connector in the rear of the server
4 Internal HDD Support
Currently have OS drive which is 250GB and 2 internal 3TB drives with 1 External 3Tb drive
Forgot to mention I do have a DVD-RW drive installed as well.
Embedded NC107i PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Server Adapter
Slot 1: PCI-Express Gen 2 x16 connector with x16 link (Have USB 3.0 card installed)
Slot 2: PCI-Express Gen 2 x1 connector with x1 Link
Slot 2-2: PCI-Express x4 slot for optional management card
Seven (7) USB 2.0 ports: 4 front , 2 rear, 1 internal
150 Watts Non-Hot Plug, Non Redundant Power Supply
It currently has Windows Home Server 2011 installed.
I just really don't know if it is worth even messing with this old of a system but I hate to see it go to waste, I'd like to do something with it.
Anybody have any good ideas or suggestions as what to use it for or what software to run on it?
