Xercise buh.. WHY.. ? [Txt Wall]
« on: Tue, 28 July 2020, 16:10:10 »

Imagine there are 2 towns off the highway.

The highway represents blood vessels, Town A represents Muscles, Town B represents <Some other organ>

Now, a person living a sedentary life has no requirement to physically exert himself.

This person lives with reduced blood-traffic throughout the day, throughout the year.

EVEN IF town B is not required to PRODUCE anything, the town still has a baseline Upkeep cost.

Town B's upkeep cost requires some minimum threshold of daily traffic (bloodflow).

The problem is, Town A and the engagement of exercise is what determines the traffic.

It then follows that when LESS THAN the natural quantity of exercise is posted by Town A,  Town B is starved of the resources that would've been coming to it.

The human systems are adaptable, but it is not SO-Adaptable that it can run optimally on Today's reduced to Zero exertion levels.

Gotta work Town A, to keep Town B in top form.

A small deficit carried across a long Time, is what cripples the balance.

Agreed
.

The optimal exercise is probably sex, since there is a direct reward and pleasurable sensation. But that requires the effort of finding someone willing to exercise with you.

Mmmmm.... AFK is not like in the movies,  for the vaste marjority of players, Statistically it's going to be  ~6-10 minutes per session.

That's not nearly enough exercise, even if you play 3 times a day, which is not really sustainable, because it creates an enormous mental toll akin to morphine.

Just wait a few more years until we can all just chug a pill and look like Arnold while sitting on the couch eating cake.

It’ll come.

Someday.

I see you've never played Beat Sabre?

I've been trying to tell my wife that I really should replace the Vive I sold with one of those new wireless Oculus headsets, because if I'm working from home into next year, it's clearly the best exercise :P

Though to make it work, you have to dance as energetically as this:
