Geforce RTX

OMG.. !! Finally.. !!

Ray Tracing..

Don't know about $1200 good, buhhhh,, it's still very very good..

The only thing that's worrying is , apparently a SINGLE 2080Ti  is NOT enough for even 1080p Ray tracing..

If that's the case,  We're really back at 2560x1440 max with Quad-SLI

For Single Card 60FPS Ray traced,  that's going to be around 3 future generations..

I am not hyped.
Cards are expensive af, and I was planning on getting a 2080. Meh I still might, but I don't see this generation as being that 'attractive' to get.

It's hard to convey with words what is now Possible with Ray Tracing hardware..

But, the reason Studio CGI looks so much better than Game CGI is primarily because of Ray Tracing..

So.. This is a HUGE leap..

But you're right in the sense 2080, as fast as it is,  is imho not fast enough as a single card for Ray Tracing.

I put a 1080 Ti in my most recent build. Honestly, I'm not convinced by the new cards.
I see what ray tracing is and I think its pretty sweet, but I'll be sitting out the next gen or two.

I have a 980 Ti that I bought a couple of years ago and I have no plans to really upgrade for at least the next 2-3 years. The card is more than enough for emulation (PSX/PS2/GC/etc.) and still fine for 1080p even for recent titles. Honestly that was kind of the point of getting a top of the line machine back then, to prevent the constant desire to upgrade all the time. If I ever get to the point where I am gaming a lot again and it's not enough, used 980 Ti cards should be really cheap by then and I could just SLI.
