i was really confused by this episode at first, but it definitely had some really good moments. Still not quite as spectacular as I'd been hoping so far, though.

I think thus far, it's still pretty Funky Fresh.

As for expectations, it's ever rising.

Great episode,  ON POINT.
It had some good jokes for sure, but I felt it didn't make the most of the plot (a bit like the Florida cat episode). Still fun though.

Solid episode this week, very story-driven. Bit more serious than usual even, I'd say.

Agreed, really good one this week, best one of this half of the season so far, I think.

r&m has introduced me to some incredible music, first do you feel it by chaos chaos a few seasons ago and now the finale music, don't look back.

Sigh... now the grinding wait for Season 5 begins.. Am having withdrawl symptoms already,  cold sweat, runny nose, body tremor, twitching in 1 eye.

Wow, this episode was a heavy revisit one. Quite a fun one though, laughed a good deal xD .

Shame the season is already over again!

I wish they just ended on Interdimensional Cable, it sucks Justin gave up on that whole thing. This meta callback **** is exactly what ruined Adventure Time. It's good to pepper in once in a while, but not write entire episodes relying on lore knowledge of the show because it's not (or wasn't traditionally) that type of show. One example of a show doing long running metacontent while still retaining the original feel of the show would be the Roger's golden turd plot line in American Dad which has been going on for 12 seasons. Rickturn of the Jerri was a decent enough episode if you look at it on it's own, but I really don't want R&M to become that type of show. I think the referential jokes Rick makes about not wanting to 'do a Star Wars' shows the writers were aware of this and really this episode is just a big jerkoff session for the type of people who show up to a Comic Con panel to ask why Morty's left shoe was slightly off-color during one scene in s02e10

The writers seem very content to just do their own thing and make fun of everyone telling them what to do, which is excellent. I hope they maintain as much creative control as possible because the season was pretty good overall, I think. Maybe not as good as season 3, but solid for sure.

Already can't wait for S05! :D
