Furnace n0000oooo....
« on: Sun, 21 February 2021, 12:03:20 »
Woke up froz cold.

Be like whaaaa...gon'rong.

Chk furnace, it be blown' cold air.

4 blinking lights, " thermal limiter open "

ffffffffffffffffff................../ maximum h8 mode activate.

Checked thermal limiter switch, indeed, it won't reset.  Bridged the leads, blue flame fires.

Sigh...

Now must wait 2 days in suprcol  for switch.   IF Tp run the furnace without the limiter, assssuming it's just the switch that's broken,  Tp should probably no die. but welllll it is a gas appliance

THOUGHTS ?   Should Tp just run it w/ safety off ? Is that even legal ?

Anyone else I'd suggest putting on a coat as it can't be colder in than out but do you even own one?

If you blow up from a gas explosion, your post count will be surpassed at some point.  This cannot happen.  Call to get on a list for repair.  Make a tent and keep warm.  Remember, no cotton for sleeping.  Don't wanna sweat and lose precious heat.

Here's the p00r person engineering thought..

Tp dun' think the sensor tripped.. it MAY just be corrosion..  perhaps Recent xcapadz into Humidifying has accelerated oxidation on an already old-sensor.. no ?  imagining it ?  it sounded reasonable when Tp thunk it....

Xplodz ?

The radon outside air inlet is right next to the furnace, so it's getting a mix of cold wintry air + the normal air of the house,   Can't really see that it'd overheat in the winter.   The intake filter was changed only in late Jan, flow rate should be gud.

Imagine if off-topic posts counted toward the total !
"Starting in 2011, the deficits again started to shrink. During Obama’s term  the deficit was reduced by $900 Billion  before finally in 2015 the GOP managed to wrangle a “reconciliation” bill out of Obama where he again cut corporate taxes, as well as made permanent some of George W. Bush’s original tax cuts. This is the year everything reversed. Before this, under Clinton, Bush and Obama the deficit in almost every year was gradually decreasing. The balance we had of taxes and the economy was bringing the deficit down, the money coming in was slowly catching up with the money going out until 2015. Trump’s subsequent tax cut has continued the new trend even after the rest of Bush’s cuts have since expired. Obama had an average GDP of 2.3%, with 11.6 million jobs created and unemployment peaking at 10% in 2009, then falling to 4.3% in 2016. If we had continued on that downward deficit track, we would have again reached balance and another surplus in 2017-2018.
