"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Well he more or less built his imperium by promising ridiculously ambitious things, which allowed him to attract people who'd otherwise never work for him, but who see him as a sort of "visionary". Especially with stonks going down the drain it makes sense that he is doubling down on this.

Elon is quite literally the exact type of individual who the current administration is attempting to deport without due process.

An illegal immigrant bent of adversely affecting and undermining US government and law
All his companies are failing, the government has to create scenarios and contracts that cost billions to keep him afloat
Elon is costing the US taxpayers billions simply by existing
Scamming old people out of their social security, forcing them to use his specific technology
Having tons of anchor babies in an attempt to further entrench himself
Almost forgot, despite being "one of the busiest people in the World" still time to 'sit on his ass' playing video games.... extremely poorly

He is every single thing this administration claims to be against.

It's funny watching a bunch of people who will happily spend $1000's on egoistic desk weights getting their knickers into a twist over those 'damn rich people'.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the overwhelming majority of regulars on this forum are very comfortably within the 1% of the 1% of the world's wealth holders and are just jealous that you're not in the 1% of the 1% of the 1%. Go get some fresh air and sunlight.

Look,  This asshat is sitting up there, talking about Oligarchs, and Governments that STEAL from people.

THAT"S HIM, he's talking about himself.. They all do it.

So the device here, is to DIVIDE the population,  no my political opponent is the thief, vote for me and my constituency. We're team not-thieves.

This is my basic litmus test for if the person's opinions are worth more than a passing thought.

If you're calling out something ****ed up, I don't care what side of the particular artificial-divide-of-the-moment you're on as long as you are equally critical of the same behaviour on both sides of that divide.

If you only care about something when #theotherside is doing it, oxygen is too precious to waste on you. Real meaningful progress will never come from tribalists and hypocrites.

Who is ****ing whom?

https://apnews.com/article/fema-bric-grants-climate-resilience-cbbead8d418e1ff4e53d95f482de3522

The majority of these programs go to local slush funds. These small towns are not solvent. There are people living there, but they do not perform economically to even support the roads/ power/ water leading into them. So, the local leadership can't invest it even if they wanted to, they might do the bare minimum just to pretend like there's a point. Then they divide the bulk of it into their own laundering services/accounts.

You have the crumbling of urban infrastructure due to City rot (poor urban planning, whereby the block can not recoup their own expenses),  the same is the case for a developed nation as a whole as we "age".

In time, these programs and small towns would have to be trimmed anyway. The people there have 3 options, Leave, Die, or Hills have Eyes.

The money for now, will just go to "Some other" slush fund, to pay for cocaine and hookers. It'd be wasted either way. The system for managing this money effectively was broken from the start.

A non issue, it wouldn't have been better, just a different bad in a different place.

This racket is one of the oldest.  The King decrees, here's gold for the flood victims, local leaders bow, take most of the money, keep it for themselves,  barely shore up the local levies, people die,  Repeat, asks for more gold.

What are the odds that he's not gonna be in charge even when he's no longer CEO though?

He is probably hoping that a little distance from his toxic name and face might help.

It would be nice to think that the adults on the Board might start concentrating on producing quality products not held together with spit and glue.

If they replace Musk, TSLA ^roof ?

There's nothing wrong with the technology or the company itself. (other) than ecocide, environmental destruction, etc, but that's still par as far as capitalism goes.

The other thing is, there are no alternatives, America doesn't "Another" labor force or the technological brain mass to produce another EV company, TSLA is our last ditch at a car company.

But then the other end is, welllll... damage is done, brand is a no go.

It's about time.

https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/tesla-board-opened-search-ceo-succeed-elon-musk-wsj-reports-2025-05-01/
Not going to happen.
He controls the board, it's effectively privately controlled.

They'll probably survive but only as a small part of what it is and only after the stock tanks.
Public sentiment is lost, the cars are not that good and there's now plenty of alternatives, you don't recover from that easily. Oh and if you own one, if the company folds those cars are going to be worth scrap metal. Tesla controls the entire parts network and the software side making them effectively dead without the company.

The research is interesting, but climate change will kill us all long before we're space-faring.

We're missing so many key technologies for space travel, that researching Ships right now is attempting to research the Kart before even inventing wheels.

It's unlikely that humans will ever populate space in our current form. We need radical biogenetic modifications before we can endure space travel.

Spacemen, if by miracle we get there solving climate change, 3body problems etc,  will likely be a hybrid of Jellyfish+Tortoise+Beetle+Ape+Tree Hybrid.

It will also not likely be an individual unit, The biology would be an immobile block built into the ship itself, the ship is the body.

He wants to say Musk and Drump are corrupt. OK.

But Biden, Obama, Clinton, are JUST AS CORRUPT.

You see how the media is deliberately confusing the public, dividing opinion on things on squabbles that Don't-Matter.

Republicans/Democrats are identical in every way that spends our tax dollars.

More weapons, define the world by violence.

And right when that PLAN has clearly failed,    They sold America ANOTHER WAR, Vkrain.  Another war that we started and failed.

What bait NT, you're as far removed from consequential as can be. Your experience and knowledge of geopolitics is non-existent, and your personality is something between dreary incel and suicidal blue maga.

NT, Tp4 does not believe you to be a bad person. But your education stopped at highschool, and you've never updated since. You're not qualified to discuss much of anything.

Tp4 sees NT's posts with an eye of empathy for the disenfranchised illiterate. But if you refuse to listen, learn, and help yourself, well, blue maga is as far as you go.

Wisdom has nothing to do with education.

That's an unnecessary fight on words.

To be more specific, NT, like the average American has ingested garbage-information and been brainwashed their whole lives, regardless of how "good" a person's brain may be, it can not compensate for the layers of psychosis generated by our American media machine.

Years ago, when I took classes in Psychology, the hallmarks of a wise person were considered to be  open-mindedness, compassion, and emotional control.

That's psychology2day drivel.

The correct interpretation in neuroscience is that there is no such thing as "Up" or "Down", "Better" or "Worse" in psychological profiles/ distributions.

It's a Distribution, designed to cover all the uses a "tribe" would have split among different individuals.

There are genetic destinies for followers, for leaders, for patsies, for laborers, etc.

This is not a question of who's on top, this is a question of WHERE WE"RE GOING as "A SPECIES."

Right now?  We're going to die, because all of this TIME spent on bickering and "political smut" is directly against the Interest of the bio-sphere.

It's an important lesson everybody should learn. It's short-sighted to assume people are stupid if they aren't as educated as you are, or smart if they are highly educated. Just as someone can be wise beyond their years, or clueless despite great age.

Also I have no idea what that map is supposed to represent as there's no title or legend included.

The fact that you do not recognize it IMMEDIATELY, represents the critical lapse in knowledge base afflicting the vaste majority of the British/American proletariat class.

We've been lied to, and dis-informed. Everything in our media is a distraction. NOTHING of the politics you see are politics which matter.

TP4 is pointing to the wildfires across Canada as an indication of how destructive the human race has proven itself to be.

The map is air quality detectors, indicating the large plumes of billowing Toxicity bearing down from the fire.

Not intending to feed the local bridge troll, but he was wrong on all accounts as well, so his attack is baseless (I've an AAS in Psychology & a BA in Game Design, 6 years of higher education)

tp is just lashing out and attempting to stir controversy by pushing extreme ideals lately, probably due to loneliness and feelings of being ineffectual in his life, and this being the only place he feels comfortable enough to outburst like this. Ironic he treats the only entities in his life who put up with and entertain him as punching bags.

NT, you're the oblivious type who people tip toe around not having to tell you how cringe/crass your posts are.

Your degrees are what they are, but college is a system of indoctrination WITHIN capitalism.  Reality is generally heavily colorized to reflect nationalism and corporate interest.

Of the details on geopolitics you've parroted thus far, they're nonsense, and not true. You've never demonstrated any deep understanding, nor have you engaged in coherent debate.

Tp4 has never thrown a punch at you, he's given you an accurate description of who you are, a very crude person.

Your projection of your own depression onto others has been a constant. You use that as a crutch to reinvent other people as "worse off" than yourself.

___This is not to say, Tp4 thinks less of NT, as Tp4 has remarked, there is a distribution of genetic personality, there is no up or down, NT is merely environmentally mismatched, like the rest of mankind.

___ and to be M0ar clear, when Tp4 says NT's education stopped at Highschool, he's not talking about an actual highschool, it's a description of NT's views/knowledge on life, interpersonal relationships, the economy, energy use, and government.
