Chairs hrrm??
« on: Thu, 04 June 2026, 07:30:21 »
The oldr Tp4 gets, the more it's blatantly obvious, humans were not designed to SIT.

Our cousins the apes and monkies, they're always moving, climbing, swinging.

Our forest living tribes spend most of the day walking/ foraging, on their feet.

The only time we even see any MOnKe doing something resembling Office-sitting, is in a ZOO, or huddled on a Tree during heavy snow, trying not to freeze to death.

<In all other circumstances> The proper position for humans is to be Erect and Mobile.

Tp4 has tried so many chairs, 5 knobs, all the buttons, adjust adjust adjust,  END OF THE DAY,  Nothing bests the comfort of using your Muscles, and just standing.

Sitting collapses your breathing depth. Because your gut is squeezed, you can't fully expand the lungs and breath deeply, it's like a chronic mild asphyxiation.

The chair is like wearing high heel shoes on your back. The body is not designed for it, and it basically cripples your anatomy.

Do not be tempted by malaise fellow hughmhans,  channel one's inner meerkat.

Consider a knee chair (without back support). You can only use it with an upright posture. It feels very natural, but is a little more tricky to get in and out of.

I still need to keep my right knee straight in front of the computer, or it will start hurting after a while, so I can't use one.

chairs are fine if you ask me. standing, kneeling or whatever just doesn’t change the circumstances that much. most important thing is to break up time at the desk and set aside some time for quality exercise each day.
