Selfone cases.
« on: Thu, 02 July 2026, 17:09:16 »
It's upsetting that they're made out of TPU,

Which deteriorate over time, and turn into a goopy oily mess, as the oil starts to migrate out of it.

Apparently, you can't get the oil back in without high temp+ Pressure, which would destroy the case.

This is a HUGHHHGEe,  waste of resources. It shouldn't be like this.

Cell phone cases (or the enclosure they come in !!) should come with metal loops for wrist straps — like every cell phone and camera before the iPhone did, so that people wouldn't drop them in the first place.

Also bad for the market is old stock cases, basically if it was injected 5 years ago, wev got a few more months before it becomes greazy.

Cases should be entirely made out of PC, THEN they should sell liners of soft TPE stripes which is the only disposable section.

Also unlike TPU, PC can be made to resist plastic discoloration for much longer.

I am still using a cell phone that is 7 years old - much older than normal. Why does a case need to have a longer life span than the item it is protecting?
"We are on the precipice of signing an agreement to advance talks with Iran that preserves the good parts of former President Barack Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while amplifying its flaws.
Mr. Obama came to an agreement that did not involve America’s most precious treasure, the lives and limbs of our soldiers.  The 1.7 billion dollars of frozen Iranian assets released by Obama pales in comparison to the 300 billion being floated as a rebuilding fund.
So far, speculation that Iran will be free in the future to continue its nuclear program is the opposite of Trump’s stated goal for the war and in direct opposition to what Mr. Obama negotiated.

People are buying 10-20s of cases per phone, due to discoloration etc.

This is a ridiculous amount of waste.

The other portion is,  TPU having a shelf-life,  you can just leave it on the shelf, and it'll still start to become oily and unusable, because it's inherently not a stable mix.

So everything that is stored, is extra waste.
