Here's some random shower thoughts regarding the show....

They haven't really addressed procreation, kind of curious how they decide that, we know some people were pregnant when this happened, but what now? Not that it matters for the time being since they can't even feed themselves.

I wonder what their ethics are in regards to bringing a child into that world with without their permission, I mean if you're willing to starve yourselves because the food wasn't given a choice what about a child?

Speaking of procreation, in terms of the characters though, does everyone suddenly become bi? How does the original person/body/owner of that body feel about this? Or were they a lesbian before? Or does sex and gender just completely lose all meaning? I could be wrong but I would think prejudices would still exist unless all personality and individualism is also wiped out.

Taking this a bit further though, what's their point? What becomes the meaning or purpose of life? Entertainment is dead, procreation is dead, what is there to live for? "We're happy", doing what exactly? Finding a way to meld everyone into your hive mind? Mission accomplished, now what? They all just die off?

I get it's a show but I'd really like to see them dive into this stuff because other than being a good way to wipe out a species, it's sort of a stupid premise long term.

If you look at any natural systems.

You have  2 engineer, 100 builders, 60 house moms, 3 cooks, 1 epstinn, 1 donal, 6 madoff, 1 beethoven, etc etc.


BIOLOGY is designed upon the whole spectrum of behavior and potentialities.   

A totally self-LESS society would collapse,  just as a totally self-ISH society would.

A totally SANE society would collapse, just as a totally INSANE society would.


The back and forth interplay, of DO and DO NOT, is the only way the 2-GODS balance.

Causality (Gods) act on material through "Us".  Because there is interplay,  there is "Life"

Perhaps it is a galactic strategy to wipe out intelligent life - a long-standing trope in dystopian SF.

As long as Earth humans re-transmit the virus formula, acting as a relay station, that qualifies as success. Then the human race can die off and Earth can try again to produce a superior species.
