So the best is to always live walled instead of respecting fellow human beings?
I ride public transport every day, goes straight through some of the worst neighborhoods of my country, people get in the bus to go to work just like me.
Why would I ever be in more danger in a public transport than at home or in the street?
In your own car, workplace, home, there is a selection barrier.
That barrier is not there for public transportation.
That's the difference, and that's why it is more dangerous.
You don't get stabbed to death in your own car, (assuming you're not involved in some domestic violence debacle).
You don't get stabbed to death in a public transport, why would you? You CAN be stabbed, but it just doesn't happen. You can also be shot in your car or chopped with an axe in your house at night.
You are viewing things all wrong. It's when you are alone that you are in danger, if you are in a public place you're protected.
And no one is going to attack you with no reason, for someone to fear this would mean a complete lack of understanding of other people.
Any barrier is easily breakable, you need other people to protect yourself.
