It's funny you mention that.

I've been doing a lot of work in MS WordPad. I'll be honest, it actually works beautifully for a lot of what I need to do, which is just a text editor with a touch of formatting and the odd photo included.

It's very fast and doesn't endlessly fight me to format things how it wants, it just lets me do it. The files are small and are easy for anyone to open and work with, especially if they're on Windows.

I ALWAYS LIKED WORDPAD AS WELL. LIGHTWEIGHT SOFTWARE THAT DOESN'T TRY AND FORCE ITS WAYS UPON THE USER IS NOT EASY TO FIND IN THIS DAY AND AGE.

So the best is to always live walled instead of respecting fellow human beings?
I ride public transport every day, goes straight through some of the worst neighborhoods of my country, people get in the bus to go to work just like me.
Why would I ever be in more danger in a public transport than at home or in the street?

In your own car, workplace, home, there is a selection barrier.

That barrier is not there for public transportation.

That's the difference, and that's why it is more dangerous.

You don't get stabbed to death in your own car, (assuming you're not involved in some domestic violence debacle).

You don't get stabbed to death in a public transport, why would you? You CAN be stabbed, but it just doesn't happen. You can also be shot in your car or chopped with an axe in your house at night.

You are viewing things all wrong. It's when you are alone that you are in danger, if you are in a public place you're protected.
And no one is going to attack you with no reason, for someone to fear this would mean a complete lack of understanding of other people.

Any barrier is easily breakable, you need other people to protect yourself.

People who smell bad, have a history of drug use, and those who use Macs should be permanently barred from public transport.

While this is super off topic... Sure, public transportation CAN be dangerous. Especially in a bigger city. All things considered, is it MORE dangerous than your own vehicle? Are you more likely to have an accident in your own vehicle or be stabbed by a machete swinging crazed public transport passenger? Is it the uncleanliness of public transport that makes it more dangerous? There are many dangers to consider if you are one to worry

On topic, I love the snow and hate the cold. I grew up in Virginia where we would have snow days 1-3 times a winter and it was a ton of fun. Moved to Florida when I was 14 and only miss the snow when its really cold, so not too often. I've only seen snow fall here once or twice and it never sticks

Your point is what?

While humans CAN be dangerous it doesn't mean they ARE. In american terms it's the same as how you owning a gun doesn't make you a killer.
And in the event that someone does want to harm you do you really think staying inside a house or car is going to save you? Only another group of people can save you. That's why the police exists.

This philosophy of fear of others is quite frankly disgusting, you are living surrounded by the benefits and achievements of society and yet doubt the basis for it's function.

Snow also makes the nights brighter.

White snow illuminated by street light makes the bright lights easier on the eyes, and it is easier to see where you are going than if the ground was bare.

Stupid slushy slipper weather today here though... Not easy to get around. But wait until the temperature drops below 0°C and stays there for weeks.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Same with virtual reality.. it's really the only thing keeping the industry alive right now..

Because VR games are just worse and unplayable in the long sittings with the heavy headset and circulation cutoff..

WINDOWS 98 IS BETTER THAN WINDOWS 10. IT DOESN'T SEND YOUR DATA TO BIG BROTHER! YET ANOTHER REASON TO ADOPT THAT FINE OPERATING SYSTEM.

PERHAPS. ALL OF MY CABINET MEMBERS MUST BE ACTIVE USERS OF WINDOWS 98 IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR POSITIONS. THEY ALSO MUST USE MECHANICAL KEYBOARDS AND RENOUNCE ANY FAVOURABLE OPINIONS OF APPLE PRODUCTS.

BUT ON OTHER THOUGHTS, HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The new Firefox was giving my home PC all sorts of issues so I switched back to Chrome, which still sucks.

It absolutly boggles the mind that Google has known about the severe memory leakage Chrome causes, and have never addressed it after all these years.
