In my neck of the woods, finding a keycool KB is a rare event, let alone it having the switch that I like which is black, so I took it as a sign and grabbed it....it was a display set (and was available at a nice discount), so it's a tad dusty, will clean it out later.

Finally got my new case installed, I did get it in the mail about a week ago...

Original Case on the Left (Small Factor)
Mid Tower in the Middle
New Fractal XL R2 on the Right (Full Tower)

unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

Two cute little voltage regulators arrived yesterday from China.  Took seven days from purchase to getting these in the mail, mind-blowing.  Going to use these to mod the LED power for a TG3-82 board, following the path blazed by TheChemist!

30783-0
30785-1

Also got a couple of NOS M3x050 taps (one Italian-made, one Swiss), to tap mounting holes for a Teensy breakout board
30787-2

Apologies for the potato pics, my better half took the camera on vacation to Europe...

I was a bit scared when it arrived... overall eight different stickers from german customs on the little envelope and it was opened by customs. But everything was fine.  :)

I'm so in love with my 660C (and it's layout!) that I had to get it a brother. (w/ browns)

Seriously considering selling all of my other keyboards... I haven't touched them since April.  This layout has spoiled me!

Leo did something terrible with that keyboard let me tell you...

TERRIBLY GOOD. The layout is perfect for anything really. I use it as my portable board but I had no problem using it as my daily on my desktop for a couple months unlike my Pure.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Pretty much it. Right now they're having a "private beta" meaning they're shipping/charging people while still working on the software :P

I'm going to try it out tomorrow on my drive to work, I'll be interested in seeing what it has to say and how well it works.
