Razer Deathstalker (don't lynch me)
« on: Sat, 15 September 2012, 17:13:34 »
As one of the few here on this board who actually likes the Apple aluminum keyboards (blasphemy, I know), I was wondering if anybody had tried the Deathstalker (non ultimate, don't care for the screen), and how it feels compared to the Apple keyboard.

Is this the same as my macbook pro keyboard?
I thought they called it Chiclet?

I used to use it and its not that bad, but I really prefer a mech board. especially for gaming.
Switches tried so far
Cherry MX Red Blue Black Clear
ALPS White Black (fake)Blue
Montereys
ACER
White Black
Futaba
Buckling Sprin

The problem with scissor is that the travel is generally very shallow, so it doesn't give a satisfying feeling when you press the keys.

Now, that's a preference, so, if you like Chiclets, go for it. Although that screen on the side is totally useless and a waste of space. You're better off getting the TKL mac keyboard.

The short-travel ML's have a very satisfying tactile point, but I know what you mean: Most scissor switches feel terrible to me (Including the apple aluminum) Some are worse than others (Some toshiba satellites, are exceedingly poor, for example) of course. I don't have any experience with these in particular, but if you don't mind scissors, I don't see how it'd be awful.

The lenovo Chiclet are also pretty good. But they don't make a keyboard version outside their laptops.

I imagine typing like going doggy style with a girl, You want to hit it, have the kinetic energy travel forward, and then recoil; as it comes back to where our hips meet to make for that satisfying feel.

Now with that you also want long strokes, instead of short ones.

I hope you see how they're related.

This is the greatest keyboard analogy I've ever heard. +1
