I'm guessing tex is just another re-brander. These are probably OEM from some company.

well, if you don't mind the logo: http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/search.php?man=31

i guess the upside of franchising this kb, hopefully, would be more colorways/keycaps/switches. guess we'll find out.

Unfortunately, it's not going to fit.  :-[

Just going to prove that the only thing Newegg^WRosewill does is rebrand whatever they can get their hands on. Definite win for TEX who actually designed the keyboard, presuming they didn't get screwed in the deal.

Though I have a sneaking suspicion the Rosewill version will end up having every cost cutting measure they can imagine applied, at Newegg^WRosewill's insistence.

seems the aluminum case would be the first to go in that scenario.

Just because Tex revealed their version first, doesn't mean they're the ones who designed or manufacture this, in china, there is this magical thing called ODM's who design something and then sell it to anyone and everyone who will buy it. Calm your jimmies.

You know, because I'm not the guy who's been on and on and on about ODM/OEM for the past you know, year or so or whatever. Obviously blah blah etcetera.

TEX is the original designer of the PCB, controller code and chassis. The designer has actually posted here on GH and also here. (Translated link here.) TL;DR - the same person worked on Poker and PURE. Manufacturing is performed by a third party because tooling and setup is prohibitively expensive, but that does not mean TEX is not the ODM. They are.

Well Duckys are all plate mounted so plate float sounds more likely.

I've heard someone mentioned that there was a rumour that Ducky and Costar didn't get along before so most likely that Ducky will never be using Costar stabilizers ever.  Then again I have no way to confirm that.

But at the moment Ducky sounds like your best bet.  Maybe wait for Ducky Shine III?

Well I'm just kinda annoyed that somehow, nobody else bothered to look up and link this thread here where Justin from TEX stopped by to fill us in on all the details himself. (He's the guy who designed the keyboard, yes.) Especially with how excited everyone was about this particular board.

To elaborate; I think it's somewhat disrespectful to the vendors who do come by to share their neat new stuff with us, and then turn around and promptly forget about it. Then get all excited when the same keyboard gets 'announced' by a rebranding house, completely forgetting that we actually got the scoop from the designer months ago.

Wait, what? They bought a single one.. without a badge.. for Computex.. why?!

I can see where they've got it claimed as a "Micro-RK-9000" so at a minimum it's questionable ethics. (Which is about the best you ever get with Newegg.) So they're claiming that they're introducing a new model, under their own branding, using a single keyboard, without even making clear an intent to make a formal agreement to rebrand it?

... man. I would not trust those people as far as I can throw them. :/

I've been using a Tex Beetle at work for about a week now. First time using a 60% board so there is a learning curve, but so far I really like it. Very classy looking in my opinion with the aluminum bezel and fairly minimalist keycaps.

Justin, any chance of updated firmware soon? I'd love to have the ins/del/home/end/pgup/pgdwn cluster moved to the arrow key area.

I was waiting for someone to notice that...

Only one catch. It's not actually a Razer. It's a knockoff. Notice the differences on the mouse wheel, the height of the buttons, and the wider parallel section on the lower half? The missing silver buttons? Yeah.

All the hallmarks of a straight up stolen design.

I wouldn't trust Rosewill as far as I could throw them.

Maybe they can get one for changing the color of the DPI indicator LEDs from green to blue and taking out several LEDs on the side.

BTW, that's the other hallmark of a stolen design. The Ouro only has 3 LED indicators, not 4.

Hi , these day so busy !!

Don't worry , I have already change some F/W , and I will release that for you guys :)

Have a nice day !!

I don't see why rebadging something is necessarily bad. A large company like Newegg/Rosewill will likely buy many more units and give the product much more exposure than if a small shop were selling it itself. In turn, the price is lower for essentially the same product. Besides, if they wanted to copy the design they probably could have done that without having a special unit made for them. It's behind glass, so who would know if they cheaped out.
