this thing does need an aftermarket controller, in my opinion.
the flexibility of a programmable controller is just needed to make good use of a small keyboard like this.
besides, i think the stock Fn layer is pretty stupid, and the Fn key is positioned poorly, relative to the design of the Fn layer..
gotta say though, that this is the only keyboard i've ever owned that i'd actually call
fun.
blank caps and hasu's controller; it's just so much fun to play around the layout and not ever having legends that are 'wrong'.
at first, i was thinking of going for the JP and then use something like AutoHotKey, but i'm glad i learned of hasu's controller and went with the blank HHKB : )
It's not a Type-S, just a Pro 2. But it's in a Type-S case.
i guess someone preferred the 'cleaner' look of the non-Type-S case? : )
well, i'd advise people to get a non-Type-S, anyway. it's too late for myself, but i'm convinced you can get the same quality dampening for a lot cheaper than the Type-S.
