I have a sleep technique guaranteed to work.
Close eyes. Imagine you're on a ship like in water world.
Then embark on a vivid adventure.
Do not think about sleeping. Do not worry if this is working. Just go with your imagination and paint this world.
Feel the waves beneath you. The lonely sea.. The cool and calm. The isolation.
You will fall asleep before you know it. Max 15 minutes.
Did you try it on yourself TP4? I keep having visions of the Poseidon Adventure going through my head.
You can make it a ship wreck..
Give it a beginning , a middle, BUT the ending is open ended, and you're riding it out.
For example..
You're ship wrecked.. EVERYONE else dies... except you... A big secondary raft full of supplies is also teathered to your raft...
There's lots of everything... including a shipment of contraband Cocaine and Liquor..
You may decide to do Life-of-Pi with this one. minus the tiger
OR..
You can make it to an island... Decide that, hell YOU DON'T want to be FOUND.. EVER..
Then you survive on the island..
If you get TOOOO lonely, you could always imagine that you've also rescued a pair of golden retrievers, a boy and a girl dog.. So that gives you an endless supply of animal companionship for the island.
WARNING !!!It's important there's no "perverse nature" to this scenario, for example, you save a pretty girl.
I tried a scenario like that, and in every case it becomes stressful as I begin to include the dynamics of a replicant population..
Fundamentally, what helps a person sleep in the faux-universe is an escape from humanity, its requirements, and its rules..
The majority of the human doctrine is dependent upon having a Male and Female human..
Without which, society has NO PROBLEMS whatsoever.. because we're just waiting to DIE.
That is what going-to-sleep is.. a calm wait for death, there's freedom in it..
Of course the good part is you don't actually die, you are just temporarily relieved of having to deal with the world and its problems.
