My girlfriend's dad was waiting for a flat bed to go pick up his truck after a crash into a guard rail yesterday afternoon. His brakes went out going down hill and almost went off the side of the road. He has a huge work truck that is lifted and is just overall heavy, thus the flatbed.
AAA "sent" someone but they only sent a small tow truck which wasn't going to be able to tow him down the windy residential streets.
Then they said it would be 3 hours till a flatbed could get to him.
3 hours pass and nobody was there. We called, they said the driver went but "didn't see him" so he left.
Told them to send someone else. They said it would be ANOTHER 3 hours.
We said **** it, we live a bit over an hour away (no traffic) so we might as well get him. He's stuck in the Pacific Palisades, some fancy rich people hills, which isn't far from neiva rubber cities with multiple dispatch centers for tow trucks.
These people didn't want to do their job and have to drive up the hills, load his truck, and then drive him over an hour away, so they just say some bull**** like "we couldn't find him" or "it'll be 3 hours" so you hopefully give up on the tow.
He got into the accident maybe around 5 and we brought him back home at about 1:30
The most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. The truck is still sitting there and who knows what the excuses will be today.
