apparently the new area I live in is going to add $350 to my car insurance premium despite having a lock up garage wtf
you're in the ghetto now. the back streets.
i'm slightly bothered because i got my highly anticipated new pc parts and monitor delivered to work but there's so much to carry that it take me two trips to get it all home (no car). plus I'm going out to dinner tonight so I can't really bring anything along with me tonight anyway..
i miss the north shore with its nonexistent crime lol
oh man that sucks - what did you get?
i5 6600K
GTX 970
16gb DDR4
256gb SSD
etc
+ 144hz 1ms monitor
Did you buy the delid tool ?
Ur gonna need the delid tool for the 6xxx series cpus.. too fragile to go at with the hammer/vice method.
uh no, no I haven't. first time I've heard of it actually
edit: looking into it, looks a little scary but wow it makes such a difference and would really help with oc'ing here with australia's high temps
very interesting, thx
have you done it yourself?
I only have every series up until the 4xxx.
So all of mine are delid via the hammer/vice method.
The difference in temperature is between 10-25 Celsius, which is pretty big, especially considering how small the die is.
So, if you intend to go all the way with the Overclock.
Ur gonna need the Delid tool.. Liquid Pro (special thermalpaste).. and a small felt polishing wheel.
