The rant thread.
« on: Thu, 26 December 2013, 23:39:35 »
People, man. I have a room-mate and we've been mates for years so we have the same circle of friends. Apparently this means that whenever friends can't reach him they should call me so I can relay messages.

And they think I'm being rude for getting pissed off at nonsense calls all day long. PISS. OFF. ****HEADS.

Reminds me of the time my roommates were having a party the weekend I went to visit my parents.  I got two phone calls from people trying to get me to let them into the apartment.  "No, I can't help you, I'm in another state..."

I love America, but I hate most other Americans.  The ones I hate most are the ones always saying "love it or leave it" all the time.  I don't think I, or other useful members of society, need to leave.  The useless, inconsiderate to everyone else, blobs of crap need to go.  Morons that think a bucket of fried chicken, or a "meatza" from some dumbass caveman diet are healthy because they are low carb, seriously need to GTFO of my country.  If people dedicated as much energy to not eating greasy crap from a box/can/bag/drive through/etc., and exercised, as they did with stupid fad diets, we would all look like fitness models.  A salad with 2000 calories worth of creamy dressing slathered on it isn't a "healthy meal option" by the way.  Seriously, it isn't difficult to cook a healthy and tasty meal in a short amount of time.  The internet can be used for more than looking at porn and sports scores, so if you can't cook, there's no excuse not to find recipes online.  Today I got lucky and got parking right in front of a store, but when I went to leave some bovine jackass decided to block me in to unload a bunch of cows.  I waited literally five minutes for all of the lard asses to exit the SUV, because they were all too fat and lazy to walk from the parking lot like normal people instead of a bunch of cattle.  None of them were old, so there isn't an excuse.  Obviously my reverse lights were on, and at one point I got out and stared at the driver, but they were all too stupid and oblivious to the fact that there are other people in the world.  I also hate people that are so fat that they get a handicap placard, being fat doesn't qualify as a disability to me, if anything they should be REQUIRED to park as far away as possible to get some exercise.  Leave the handicap spots for the elderly or disabled war veterans.  Luckily my son was with me and I make it a point to avoid fighting or making violent threats to others while he's with me, otherwise I would have done a lot more than stare.  Also the ones that can't solve SIMPLE math problems that a middle school child should be able to do like x + 5 = 7, or a^2 + b^2 = c^2, know nothing about history, think that evolution doesn't make sense but a talking snake does, and are at a 5th grade reading level, need to GTFO.  We look like gluttonous idiots to the rest of the world, and I hate going to public places because I have a violent temper, people are stupid, and I don't like getting arrested.

Pretty sure almost every topic in all forums turns into a rant thread eventually :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

ROFL I don't know anyone that misses the snow.  My dad is from Chicago, and one day while shoveling the snow he decided "F this snow, I'm moving to California," so I was spared a lifetime of crappy weather, and 40 degrees is almost too cold for me to go outside.  Tons of people I know from the midwest or east coast also left because of the weather.

I don't like snow in a big city (where I am now) where it turns to slush instantly, but snow in the countryside/woods is just too great to give up.

You don't have to like people born in America to move to the Bay Area, you just have to be okay with the Mexican, Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, and Arab immigrants :).  Even all the white people seem to speak English as a second language, and I don't mean they talk like hicks or are from Baahstin, LOL.

Why not the Arabs? huehue

Probably because they always give you a hard time at the gas station or the liquor store.  Customer service isn't big with them.  Then again they get robbed all the time so I kind of get it. I doubt it's because of the terrorism thing, that wouldn't be politically correct, LOL.

New rant - people that talk major **** where a fight would be inevitable, but are too ***** made to actually fight or even talk when the person they were talking **** about confronts them, then pretend like they are some sort of victim.

I was at dinner with my wife, son, and dad this evening at a loud restaurant.  My son started getting really loud for a couple seconds, so I told him "you're too loud, be quiet or you're going to be in trouble," and my wife apologized to the couple at the next table for the outburst.  I was talking to my dad not paying attention, my wife then mentioned that right after she apologized the couple started talking about what a brat my kid is, and how horrible of parents we must be.  They said it loud enough that they wanted us to hear it.  At that point I got loud and told my kid to be as loud as he wants, and that stupid ****s need to stay at home if you don't want to be around kids.  I said that he was loud because kids are kids, I made him be quiet, we apologized, and that should have been the end of the story.  I used the C word to describe the woman at least five times to where other tables were looking, because I figured the dude would try to defend his female, and I can call it self defense when I ask "WTF are you going to do about it?", he attacks me and I beat his ass for trash talking.  Obviously I targeted the dude because it isn't acceptable to fight females unless you are also one.  Both of them sat silent until we left, and wouldn't even look in our direction, because I was staring them down the entire time.  Why make comments like that if you aren't looking for a confrontation?  I really hate going out in public.

Yeah I got something to ****ing rant about. So I just got my PS3 today, woopty ****ing doo, super excited to just sit down and have a relaxing evening playing my new games. Can I do that? Can I just have that? Nope! Instead I have to spend the next 3 hours of my life installing ****ing games that I already have on disc. Yeah I get that they run a bit quicker, but Jesus ****ing goddamn Christ, 3HOURS 3 ****ING HOURS OF MY LIFE watching bar after bar crawl slowly across the screen, and after that do you get to play them? NOPE more installing for updates, DLC, network connectivity, etc etc on and on and on. ****! A blaring reminder of why I do my consul gaming on older systems. And to boot, what game took the longest to install? The ****ing Silent Hill HD collection! I mean, unholy Zombie Moses, a nearly 13 year old game and that's the one that took nearly 20minutes to install. What on Earth could be so ****ing vital that a ****ing 13 year old game needs a 500mb update? I don't remember anything being overtly broken about either Silent Hill 2 or 3 that would ever warrant something as ****ed in the head as that bull****! After all this cock and bull**** I don't even feel like playing, I'm too ****ing exhausted from doing nothing all damn day.

And to boot it's just downright lazy for devs to release unfinished games because they need to meet invisible milestones and release dates. Don't publishers understand how ****ed up it is to release a broken and unfinished game? You can't expect good reviews on a **** product release like that. And now even indie devs are doing this ****, everyone's just getting lazier and giving less ****s. Remember when you were able to just buy a game, go home, pop it into your system AND PLAY IT. And glitches were fun back then, to be able to discover some awesome thing the game's not supposed to do, because developers went to a lot of time and effort to release something that wasn't held together with metaphorical bubble gum and duct tape.

On top of all this bull****, the system not only didn't include an HDMI cable, but the component video cable WASN'T EVEN THE RIGHT ONE! They included a component cable for the fat PS3 model that doesn't even ****ing fit the slim model. Like seriously, what the ****ing ****! Luckily my neighbor had a spare one he gave me, but god damn man someone at the packaging factory deserves to be slapped across the face with Bigfoot's **** for that obvious blunder. Plus the corner cutting on the bundled games is sickening./ As a collector I ****ing HATE when companies give their greatest hits or game of the year versions different colored cases or spines that throw off your entire collection, but these ****tards didn't even have the common decency to put the two bundled games in plastic cases at all. Nope, they just threw them into paper sleeves, no manual, no box, just a disc in a paper ****ing sleeve as if they were black market copies. **** you Sony executive who made that call, **** you to death you sadistic ****!

I want to rant about people using long blocks of text without breaking them up into logical paragraphs.

Get it started installing and go play some Smuggler's Run on PS2 or something.  :)  Really annoying that they do that though, it's awful.  Did you have to install every one, or couldn't you have just installed one and played that one and installed others later?

In hindsight it was dumb.  That's why I try not to leave the house very often these days, I react violently to stupid ****, and people are stupid.

mh.... you failed to be the bigger person...   I never thought there is all that much in the "act" of being a bigger-person..

But... if you look at it 3rd person... the live and let die concept is more towards the larger picture rather than a simple rule for confrontations...

The other couple's failing was their ill-informed judgment on how the typical kids behave,  your failing was the taming of your own ego..

if your kids did get hurt in this fight... that would've been the thing to look out for.

The Silent Hill HD collection was ****ed when it came out, and the update supposedly corrects a lot of the problems. Read reviews and **** about that.

Secondly, I think the PS3 has a problem with network speed over wifi, thus it might have taken you a long time to download things if you were using wifi. Maybe try connecting straight to an ethernet port.

I got massively into Assassins Creed 4, and then i reached a point where the game breaks about 15 hours in. Got to wait for Ubisoft (where the U stands for really ****ing slow or Useless) I was actually quite enjoying it. Apparently this bug was introduced through a patch on December 3rd... This leads me onto

I mean what happened to testing god damn games before you released them????

For the love of god, Battlefield 4 (multiplayer) is finally in a state where I can enjoy it (but only just, and after what ? 2 months) Although the Campaign is horribly finished.

AC4 is so barely finished its unbelievable, I enjoy the game, but its only just finished and needs a damn good polish.

There are so many other examples, I just can't think right now.
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

BF4 sometimes I still can't even browse for servers, also love the occasional guy gliding around on his knee, my brother first pointed that one out to me.  Also loved getting "killed in action" walking over some rocks.

I get shot in the face and get "Kill in action" I just look at my PC confused. I constantly have "couldn't connect to server" etc. Trying to get into a game takes way too long. But strangely I enjoy playing it when I get in.

For the love of Mike, can every single form of entertainment media just stop with the zombies already? How the hell are people not just flat out sick and tired of the constant bombardment of zombie crap churned out every 2.4 seconds by people who think whatever they are working on is cool or edgy or they wanna get in on this undying fad(heh.) Enough with the goddamn zombies, planet Earth. They are so played out, sooooooo played.
