You know what'd be awesome
« on: Mon, 13 January 2014, 15:06:02 »
If they released Final Fantasy 13 for PS4.. like FF13 Full-HD version.. with 1080p and 60fps..

On ps3 ff13 was 720p and 30fps...

Oh god, why would anyone want to play that absolute travesty of a "game" again? It's so bad. Just the pinnacle of what happens when you give an art team the entire budget and totally shrug off story, character development, level design, battle systems, any... ****ing... depth... ****ing **** that game so hard.

Ohhh, but I bet tp4 be trollin'  ;)

Final Fantasy VII remade with graphics like in the PS3 techddemo plus orchestral versions of the BG music (as the Reunion/AC remakes).

Now that would be awesome. FF12 gets flack for deviating from the standard FF design, but as a standalone game it's really fun and has so much to do and discover. Also Fran

Story is for chumps...

It all begins the same way... redirects via miscommunication... then end the same way to appease the player..

It's all the same.. once you've watched TNG enough times.. You're done with the entire sci-fi genre..

The rest is all Presentation...   and by far FF13 had great presentation if not for the 30fps and 720p limit..

I guess someone who thinks watching a game and playing a game is the same thing would think that.

Let me clarify that..

I do not think playing and watching are IDENTICAL....

However, the ENDING and objectives to story driven games WILL be the same..

YOUR actions have no consequence, because they operate only within the established programming..

This is not an argument for whether one should (enjoy the process)..

I'm only pointing out that within the LIMITED construct of a GAME, it is pointless for me to put in the extra effort to achieve an outcome that I have NO actual influence upon..

Even if I made all the momentary decisions up until the ending.. IF they only programmed one ending.. I've done "extra" busy work for essentially what someone who's just watching me play would get..

This is different than, should you try something for real, in the real world.. because there is a CHANCE that the possibilities are not scripted... (we don't know for sure, but the odds are there)

However, in the story oriented video game world..  there is NO CHANCE the ending was not scripted..

Thus, I am not drawn to put so much clicking into it, which would only amount to delaying what will inevitably happen.

I'm odd in that I never much cared for FFVII.  I much preferred FFIX and similar games like Chrono Cross.

Well 9 is one of the best in the series. I know a lot of people who prefer it over 7. It came so late in the PS1's lifecycle they were able to really push the limitations of what the system was capable of.

Best FF is the FF with best graphics...

The JRPG story is always a generic rehash...  if you've played jrpgs on nes, snes etc,  it's all the same stuff...

So ultimately it comes down to presentation....

So, if all parts would be redone and had the same graphics they would be equally good?
Also, visuals are only half of the presentation imo, don't forget about the music,
FF 7/8/9 had a great OST and some classical masterpieces...
