Yasuo.. the easiest way to fix these things is to keep daily /weekly / or monthly backup images of your primary partitions..

Windowz 7 can create full backup images..  thereby,  when there is a problem, it does a COMPLETE restore to a prior state.. without any fiddling..

I've come to accept that this is by far the MOST time efficient way to deal with computers as a client user..

The time it takes for you to find out what the problem is, fix it, prevent it from happening again, etc is about 10x the amount of time it would take to restore from a portable SSD.. only about 15 minutes..

Personally, I keep 30 days of back up images,  that's only 6TBs..  I can restore to any of those states..

My point is...  EVEN TODAY it's not worth it to FIX the problem you have now..  Just back up your documents, and reformat.. and start creating restore images on external SSD or HDD..

It's usually easier to undo the damage done by a virus than it is to undo the damage done by most antivirus products.

Quite possibly.  The cause of the immediate problem doesn't matter - it could be a virus, an antivirus, mishandling, hacking, or a failed hard disk.  It's irrelevant - your data is inaccessible.  The underlying problem is that you don't have backups.

"If it's not important enough to be backed up, you don't need it".

What's important right now.. is to take ur harddrive out..

Put it into a working desktop computer..   THEN copy out your important documents and files..

Then just reformat..

TRUST ME..  stop wasting time fixing it..   it takes longer, and the odds of the problem happening in the exact same way requiring the same fix that you've figured out is LOW.

Part of my job is writing Disaster Recovery plans and implementing multi-tiered backup solutions for business and enterprise computing environments.

There is an old saying about backups.

"There are two types of people when it comes to backups. Those that backup and those who haven't lost any data yet."

If you want a simple GUI driven application try something like Syncback Free and push to an external drive or network share. These aren't disk images though so can't restore entire machine to a previous state.
