I did that with my 122-key Model M... bought it like 6 months ago, was super excited about it... then didn't bolt mod it until a week ago.

Although arguably, a bolt mod is MUCH more time consuming than swapping PC cases...

That's why I've had the same computer case since 2005.

That's me everyday at work. I brainstorm up a list of all these different things I want to do as soon as I'm off work. Then I get home and just sit...

Wait until you hit the 18 month mark and then complain.

I bought a new HDD for my PC (1TB instead of the 120GB it came with), but to swap drives in this Mac is a multi-hour task, plus I planned to install a newer version of the OS in the process.

That was more than 18 months ago.  Still on my list of things to do.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

You just described my life outside of work. :D

That's why I've had my IBM Model M terminal for 3 years.  Managed to cut the end of the cord off.  OOPS

Had my 4704 keyboard for 2-3 months.  Getting ever closer to changing the foam/layout.

Had a washer I bought for cheap.  Under warranty just need to order a part.  Been sitting in my garage for 4 months.

Got lazy when I built my computer about 1 year ago and it is missing two fans, and a 500 gb hdd because I was so excited to do it at the time, and its obviously too much work to open it up now.

Naw dude.. u have to brush..   because unless you're in a data center.. house hold air has a slight grease content..   if you don't brush there's alot of small sticky dirt that may become lodged in the small spaces between pins..  if the humidity rises, this will either cause errors, or worst -short-..

OH ho.. so you've noticed..

I can run that gpu up to 70% load @ 500rpm.. completely silent.

It does require  a case with 9 expansion slots.. it is very tall..
