Woah man...

They just quoted, AMD HBM fiji is the world's FASTEST gpu, even above Titan X..

If it is that much better I may sell my 980ti (when I get it)

I just...

There's tears in my eyes n'all

But... How is this possible..  Was memory bandwidth this big an issue?

If that was the case,, why didn't they just stack some more dies on the back..

Update..

Ok ,  so the rumor goes,  because they scrubbed the demo at the Computex,   that means 980Ti is actually faster than Fiji-Fury-X

Also the 390x must be a respin of hawaii-xt given the pictures from Powercolor, as it does not have the HBM

So if they're going to modify the clocks on Fiji-Fury-X to Beat the 980Ti.. sssssssss..  I think we might see another  4870 on our hands,  Insanely fast, but runs super-HOT

People are already getting their step ups approved through EVGA and shipping their old cards to them, I have not been approved yet but am hoping to have the  980ti by late next week, or Monday or Tuesday the following week.

I was hoping the price of 980 ti will get lower when amd comes out with their new stuff, but looks like i won't able to get it for less than $650.

Did you... zip-tie the cooler to your card?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

It's like a hybrid mid-plate/heatsink and is pretty much perfect for AIO cooling. The GPU die area is very open and did not require any shim.

No, don't  be ridiculous. The cooler is mounted to the GPU.  I zip tied the extra cable length from the cooler inside of the bracket so it doesn't hang out.

Chokes? You can see full break down of the GPU in this thread, among others.

Ah, ok,  so that black slip is just a spacer.

the Chokes are the square looking thing with "SFC" label.

I thought that black slip was a heat transfer pad,  which didn't make sense, because chokes aren't usually cooled.
