poached.

takes too long to boil the necessary water..

the microwave version never comes out right..

Otherwise I'd go for it.
What about an electric kettle?

still slower than sunny side / over easy though..

And for breakfast.. gotta get that done quick..
No doubt

Obviously over easy. Why would you want to eat a handful of snot on top?

Might depend on how many times the chef sneezed on it.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The more important question here is what do you eat your runny eggs with?

Growing up it was runny eggs and grits.

In a bacon egg and cheese. Or a Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese when I'm feeling particularly jersey.

I'm not a grits guy but grits with an egg or two stirred in it sounds good. Maybe some bacon bits for extra flavor  :p

Of course! The grits would be a dipping sauce for the bacon!

Over Easy.  With that being said, I'm not a huge fan of a liquid yoke.  I enjoy them on occasion though, with toast.

Maybe, but as a fellow Chinese person, I grew up with my eggs over hard with black pepper and soy sauce, so that's how I like them.

TP, your “sunny side up” egg ...

... isn’t even cooked...

I recommend either leaving it cooking another few minutes, or putting a lid on for long enough that the white gets at least slightly solid.

Anyway, the people complaining about butter are at least a decade out of date compared to nutrition study evidence. Butter is just fine for you. Probably better than vegetable oil to be honest. Same story for full-fat milk, half and half, cream-line yoghurt, etc. People who drink non-fat milk and avoid butter because they think it’s going to keep them thin are grossly misinformed and missing out on life.

Also, chyros, chili powder? Lame. If you don’t have some fresh jalapeños to cook, I recommend one of these:

Agreed that bacon and some sharp cheese are nice with egg though.

I just got that foto online..  hahaha..  I'm usuallly making over easies.. because it's a bit faster than to wait for the top white to solidify.

Hrrrrmmmmmmmm......

The more I think about it.. Sunny side might be better suited for sandwiches vs over easy,  because,, if you have the bread right ontop of the uncooked yolk,  it shoulddd prevent it from running all over..

WHEREAS,  putting an over-easy into a sandwich invariably becomes a dangerous eggsplosion..

Half scrambled on sammichs has yielded the best results for me. Lots of crevasses for the cheese and sauce to enter.  :))

Sometimes I'll put some cheese on top and place a lid on the pan for a few minutes. The end result is crispy on the bottom and cheesy on the top  :p

No the way I usually add cheese is the same as I do with sour cream. Just add it all grated up before I scramble it. The cheese melts and just becomes one with the egg.

How do you poach yours? I usually add a little vinegar to the water to keep the egg together.

That's a 10-4 on the vinegar :), about a tablespoon is all ya need. The secret to making good poached eggs is to put just enough water to cover the egg, that way it's not flopping around while it's boiling, it holds it's shape better. 5-6 minutes and she's ready to party. :)

That is about what I have found as well. I usually take the water off of heat so that it isn't bubbling, that way when I put the egg in it doesn't get all busted up. I put it back on heat after it's in the water but by the it's firm enough to withstand some bubbles.
