Help me find an Arduino.UNO to buy
« on: Thu, 27 October 2016, 08:27:51 »
My son and I need an "Arduino.UNO" for a project.

Although I want a good price, and am not in a hurry, I want a good quality one that I can depend on, although an exact clone (it needs to fit the standard footprint or whatever) is not out of the question.

Searching ebay turns up thousands of hits and it is very hard to decipher what is the actual item in amongst all the clones, knock-offs, plates, accessories, add-ons, etc,

What search terms would filter out all the chaff and let me see what I need?

Thanks!

Thanks.

I am great and navigating and finding things that I know about and understand, but in "uncharted waters" I get lost easily.

Adafruit is one of those 'hands-on' companies that package all the products by hand and their selection is freakin' fantastic. You could probably shoot them an email and ask them which kit. They also have a fairly strong social media presence with lots of posts that feature and describe the projects made by Adafruit customers.

Thanks. I have bought Teensies from them in the past, although I like to support PJRC whenever possible.

It's NOT a complicated microcontroller system..

So... in terms of clones..  they're honestly just as good..

The real thing isn't built to any application specific rating anyway,  so it's not like durability was ever a concern even in the main line..

For simple boards such as this,  there's virtually no difference in quality / durability.

It needs to fit into a kit/system so I am as concerned with size and configuration as with "quality"
