Theory on flipped spacebar preference

Just popped in my head.

I have a theory that those who prefer flipped spacebars have larger hands, and those who do not have smaller hands. This is because having a larger hand means you will have to bend your thumb inwards toward the palm of your hand more to hit space, and flipping the spacebar gives you some leeway to let your thumb hang out a bit more without hitting the edge. But smaller hands wouldn't have that issue as the thumbs are closer to the spacebar to begin with.

Thoughts?

My hand is 17cm long from wrist to the tip of my middle finger, and I prefer flipped space.

Mine is 18.5cm long. Definitely is at the small size. But yes. Flipped spacebar for life.

hand is around 7.75 inches long (above average), but i'm non-flipped master race.

resting placement for me is left shift, a, w, and d though, which shifts it up some.

Well, the thumb meets the spacebar at a similar angle while (flipped),  regardless of the size of ones hand..


The smaller one's hands are,  the closer the thumb is to the space bar already..


They can only like it more,  not less..

I flip my space bar; I have smaller than average hands, but definitely not teeny. My right thumb, the only one to hit the bar, hits it below the "N," all the way to the right. Not quite in between "N" and "M," but definitely not the center of "N."

I did notice the other day that, as I was typing on my SSK, there was a certain angle I had my thumb for some reason (I forget what I was typing), and the way my thumb it the bar it was as if it were angled. I think my right hand was above home row or something.

This is quite the theory. I have rather large hands and I prefer flipped spacebar. Its just more comfortable IMO. However, I can use it either way just as comfortably.

 My hand is 21cm long measuring from the base of my palm to the end of my middle finger.

My OCD wouldn't let me flip the spacebar... maybe for some it's comfortable but I can't get pass the ugly and weird look ... OCD kicks in ....

L.E: don't have anything against flipping the spacebar , it's just me who hates that and gets a shiver each time I see one ...

I flipped my spacebar, but today I flipped it back to normal after I found that my thumb was hitting the edge of the spacebar as a result of raising my chair 15+cm higher.

When I preferred flipped spacebar my keyboard was at more or less my chest or stomach level, and I raised my hands to type and it was natural to rest my wrists in front of the keyboard - in such a hand orientation, the thumbs hit the spacebar more at an angle to the front but not directly from the top.

Right now my keyboard is kind of at my dropped elbows level and it is unnatural to rest my wrists in front of the keyboard and my thumbs hit the spacebar from above.

People just do it ironically to be funny or because they want to be special. No one actually likes it or prefers how it feels over the regular way, and I speak for the entire mech keyboard community. Good day sir.
