What do GH'ers pour in their glass after a long day? Personally, I am a man of distinguished mustache and cigar flavored steak tastes. Drink of choice being scotch and sometimes cognac, but mostly scotch. Ardbeg Uigeadail and The Glenlivet 18 Year Old Speyside are currently my favorites among the golden ichor of the gods known as scotch. What's in your glass?

This stuff right here, oh yes please.

I like beer. Belgian sours and west coast style IPAs most of all. just picked up some St. Georges B&E bourbon that I find quite good. Had a bottle of glenlivet 21 that I was quite fond of a while ago but it is long gone :D

I'm mostly a beer man myself. But when I'm not enjoying my Canadian or Coors light (feel free to rip my head off) I enjoy a good gin with carbonated water and a bit of lemon (not tonic or club soda, too sweet). I used to have a drink "sparkler" that would carbonate my drinks for me but it got recalled for exploding. I miss that device.

You know how I feel about you drinking coors light! Also, club soda is just carbonated water...tonic is the sweet stuff. Your sparkler was just making club soda :D

When I have money, I like to drink IPAs. But most of the time I buy whatever is on sale, cause I needs me fix.

Oh and I do enjoy my cider, miss being able to buy my favorite...Ontario sucks for booze really.

Poor student here, so I mostly just drink whatever the local beer is (mostly Carlton Draught for me)

But when I get to have my choice of beer i'll drink Asahi.  It's my favourite beer ^_^

But again, that's only beer.  My real favourites are Scotch & Jagermeister.

I tried the Strawberry Lime and Apple Blackcurrant flavours of Rekordelig Cider for the first time the other day - pretty great stuff.

Otherwise, I'm usually happy with just a simple beer, mostly Coronas.

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

Something in the vodka line usually goes down quite well. Wisent is very smooth. Absolut vanilla is another favourite.

Or a simple beer, probably Asahi, Kirin or Corona in that order.

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. I love Żubrówka. Straight up or with apple juice and lemon.

Sadly I have run out and it's not sold in USA. Help me out Polish freinds.
In the mean time I make due with some Russian Standard Platinum.

Fine keyboards, fine booze, fine smoke, fine food, fine audio equipment and many fine taste in music... some of us are quite fashonistas too I believe. I like beer. Belgian sours and west coast style IPAs most of all. just picked up some St. Georges B&E bourbon that I find quite good. Had a bottle of glenlivet 21 that I was quite fond of a while ago but it is long gone :D

Wow, I like your style!!!  Belgian style sours and west coast IPAs FTW!

those are some good beers you have there WRX! I love visiting the lost abbey whenever I go down to SD (also Alesmith, port, etc). What did you think of rose de gambrinus?

if you ever make it out here we'll have to hit up Russian River and toronado/ beer rev.

Yes, I realised that.  Absolut 100 is actually kinda expensive, compared to other vodkas.

Probably something like Stolichnya is one of the cheaper ones in Australia (been a while since I compared prices as I generally buy it for taste, per se, rather than economy or volume).

I went through my alcohol snobbery phase during college... I realized that I wasn't getting drunk as often / quick enough with expensive liquor, and usually end up drinking alot more bittery liquid/water than I care for.. ;D

I love Żubrówka. Straight up or with apple juice and lemon.
Show Image

Sadly I have run out and it's not sold in USA. Help me out Polish freinds.
In the mean time I make due with some Russian Standard Platinum.
It's sold in Brooklyn liquor stores.  At the bar I work at we use it in one of our house drinks.
Edit: Not all liquor stores, but we get it from a local store, so at least one place in BK is selling it.  We do have a decent Polski population here, so it makes sense.

Not usually snobby with my booze. Vodka tastes the same to me at every level, as does rum and gin. The only time price == quality is with single malt scotch vs mixed scotches and micro brew beers or imports vs US piss water like bud/coors/pbr/really any beer you can also buy at a gas station.

If they are selling proper Żubrówka, they are breaking some laws. It's actually banned in the US due to the coumarin content. You can get some that is not made in the traditonal manner with artifical flavor in the US, but it is crap in comparison.

I've become a fan of a new bourbon that's being made here in Nashville. Technically, it's being made in Kentucky, but they're working on bringing it back to Nashville, where it started.

It's called Belle Meade Bourbon and it's made by Greenbrier Distillery. The original recipe actually pre-dates Jack Daniels, but their great-great-great grandfather stopped production when prohibition started.

There's a good bit of rye in the whiskey, which gives it a heavier, somewhat peaty flavor to it. I quite like it.  :p

WHITE RUSSIANS MADE WITH CHOCOLATE MILK ARE QUITE GOOD

END TRANSMISSION

That sounds like a great idea, so gonna try that.

Wait, can you make chocolate cream? This will require testing, and science.

My alcoholic tastes vary with the seasons and the moment.  Most of the time, I am a beer snob that will only drink local microbrewries with the occassional one-step-above-bottom-of-the-barrel wine.  I never spend more than $20 on a bottle of wine, and do not know much about wine.  With liquor, I only like to drink vodka tonics.  Hard liquor just makes me feel terrible and I do not even enjoy sipping on a good bourbon or scotch.  Just not my thing.

Then I go on these streaks for a month when all I want is 1.5L bottles of cheap wine and passable cheap lagers like Rolling Rock and Olympia while I lounge around the house for a day or so.  Doing chores with a few beers in you makes it so much better.

Actually making them with chocolate ice cream gives it a much more creamy consistency and is dangerously delicious. I used chocolate milk because I was out of half and half, and was using toasted marshmallow flavored vodka.

Well, chocolate cream doesn't work as chocolate powder and cream don't mix all that well, and straight cream is still better than chocolate milk(or at least the somewhat skinny milk in my fridge).
Although I will have to try it with chocolate ice cream someday, that sounds amazing.

Ayy Happy New Year, wadda ya drinkin?

Tonight I'm having Devil's Margharitas:
1.5oz blanco tequila
3/4oz lime juice
3/4oz simple syrup
place in shaker with ice and strain into glass
add 1oz red wine on top

I remember now why I generally don't make cocktails. They are messy and a bear to make, and by the time you get to 3 or 4 the recipe is out the window.

Coors is pretty bad, but the "light" version is useless.

At least I had a glass of Chardonnay and a couple of Voodoo Ranger IPAs.

I thought about this myself..

I wonder if there really is any room for an adult to have fun.

Or is self-awareness merely the final reckoning and recognition that Life is a treacherous death game, rife with only traps.

Every year I lean more and more on the possibility that There-is-no-cake, and that my consciousness is only passenger on this greater scheme of being alive.

it was definitely an acquired taste. I've had bad experiences with gin martinis, but still continue to drink straight gin

Tanqueray is my preferred, but Bombay and Hendricks are also good. Tanqueray #10 is overrated IMO.

I'll branch out to other herbal liquors eventually. Probably start with Bärenjäger. Then maybe Underberg, Fernet-Branca, Becherovkaor, or possibly some Gammel Dansk if I can find it. *shrugs*

Got to experience this live from the second row. My first introduction into scotches, cocktails, and home-brew shenanigans!

Keystone Light = Coors Light?

Keystone is owned by Coors. Both cans have mountains but the mountains on Keystone are printed sideways.

I love Żubrówka. Straight up or with apple juice and lemon.

Sadly I have run out and it's not sold in USA. Help me out Polish freinds.
In the mean time I make due with some Russian Standard Platinum.
This concoction you speak of, it sounds delicious...what are the proportions?

I'm sure he'll answer.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Pretty sure I had Keystone when I was in Canada. It was undrinkable, like all American beers I've tried :p .
Check my keyboard video reviews:

I'd go High Life over either of those. At least it makes an attempt to resemble beer.
