ok, so iffffff 4o9o is $1600,  we'd expect 3090ti to be ~$700 ish?

which would put 6900xt at $550-600 ish?

Disappointed in the 4080 12GB only having a 192Bit bus (I know it's due to scaling, but damn).  Hoping to see what RDNA3 is packing, I have considered a 6900XT as well, but the Power Color Liquid Devil options are still up there in price - guess I will be holding out a bit longer.

Yeah, those announced prices are berserk. Price of an entire new rig right there.

Hoping to pick up a new 2080s/ti for around $500 someday. Probably never.

ooOOoo I just saw those b-stocks. I think I'll wait for a b-stock 1080 Ti FTW3. Way better cooling with that extra fan, and pretty close to what the 2080 can do anyway for 1/4rd the price

i don't think 10 series is the way to go , 6900 xt is going to be the best deal outside of raytracing.

2080 Ti is the best my system can handle. Otherwise I need to do a 100% new build, and I am too poor  :'(

Still rocking a 1080Ti, and it has been a great GPU - I upgraded at the time from a 970 Strix and even back when I did it, it was a huge jump in performance.  Personally, I'm just eyeing 3080Ti's now as my next jump since the 4080 16GB is not an option due to price.

Most games are GPU bound, so tp4 plans to just throw the 6900xt into a 4790k build, there's no reason to go up on cpu, it wouldn't do anything meaningful in most games.

GTX 970 for me. It plays VR games, and can run fallout new vegas, and until it stops doing that I'm staying with it.
One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen, Eighteen, Nineteen... Yeah that seems about right.

Weeeeell I just ordered me up a 2070S ftw3 Ultra  for just $200 :))

That Ultra is on-par w/ the 1080ti & base 2080 numbers, and is a far cry from my current 970s

Nice to see GPUs becoming affordable once again. Not too many months ago these were going for 4-5x the price used

It's very likely you will never see one of those in stores.
Word is that it's going to be an OEM model so companies like Dell can say it has a 4080 when really it's just a slightly better 4070 with a 4080 sticker.

If you're on 1080/60 you'll probably be fine.
I play it on a 1070@1440/60 on ultra(?) with no problems, well, okay, lots of problems, just not GPU related.

I'm hoping for a small itx format 4060Ti. To have gpu power around >=3070, so I could upgrade my 3070 to small itx case.
My dream is to have powefull PC, 4K 60fps in small itx case, like jonsbo u1 plus.

Considering the 40 series runs as hot as it does, I wouldn't count on a full spec 4060 mini, much less a TI model.
A cut down model maybe.

There's going to be TONS of heat and power problems for 40 series in general, way more than 30 series had.
Melted cables, power supplies, overheating...

Personally, I won't be doing 40 series, now or later and if Nvida continues down this path, I won't be doing 50 series either. Not just because those cards won't fit my system, but because the power requirements are reaching entirely new levels of stupidity, which are already at the point of being stupid.  I'll go AMD and if that means and end to pc gaming for me, so be it. I'm not turning my PC into a space heater and fire hazard.

P.S. that Jonsbo, with a 3080 or 4060 TI, not a chance without custom water cooling and an external radiator. I pretty much guarantee that system struggles with that 2060 and (probably) low watt cpu, That's why it's full of Noctua fans. There are some high flow ITX boxes that handle 30 series but even those will struggle with 40s. Keep in mind, the 4080 will be similar in size to a 3090, a 4060 will be close to a 3070 in size, possibly 3080. They're massive and many cases will simply not fit all of these. I think I saw that the thinnest 4080 is 3 1/4 slot thick, the smallest one...

just leave the box open , tp4 hasn't had a side panel buckled for 10 years.

when you close a pc case, it's actually louder for 2 reasons, 1, you need alot more rpm, 2, because there's a pressure differential the whole case vibrates like a speaker.

leave it open, run 500rpm on all fans, super silent and perfectly kewl.

Buy. Better. Fans.
Also balance your airflow better.

Side panels should dampen sound, not make it louder.

Depending on the case you may actually run hotter without a side panel.

There's a mini-ITX case that in some configurations the glass side panel ran cooler than the vented panel because it created a wind tunnel through the case and forced fresh air through the CPU cooler. That lack of air through the case can also create more hot spots around VRMs or drives.

I hope in 10-15 years we will have mini PCs size of those Intel NUC, with powerful CPUs and GPU that can handle 4K at around 120fps.
Or it won't happen till next 30 years and I may be already dead....

Considering current mobile devices are on-par with desktop PCs from about 7-9 years ago, I'd reckon it will be less than a decade.

That would be nice.
Image such a small PCs, like 12x12cm boxes, mounted behind monitors.
Maybe in 20 years, all monitors would be USB powered (lets say.. 32-40" OLED monitors, so cheap that everyone would have one), that would be nice. Less huge cables.
