Today was a very eventful day with my sister, her fiancée, and some of their friends.  They have an annual event that they call Fall Fun Day, which consists of a corn maze, various races and goofy activities, a hay ride, pumpkin picking/carving, chili/feast eating, watching Hocus Pocus, and a bonfire.

I had a blast with these pedal cars.  :D

Renewed my license, watched Baylor put the hurt on WVU, got my hair cut, watched more fun college football.

I clicked the wrong link and started to send myself a PM.

I wonder if I would have replied, had I sent it without realising.

Probably ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Not today, but I spent the the entire weekend installing hardwood flooring in my parents house. We had to interweave the new flooring with the existing hardwood so I spent a lot of quality time with a circular saw and crowbar.

It was tiring, messy work, but damn did it look good when we got done. You would never be able to tell where the new wood starts.

Now I want to rip out my carpet, but I need to rest a while first :))

I'm not sure which of the 3 Back to the Futures I've seen. Being it's BTTF Day and all the hype I've seen, plus the movie seems like it's right up my alley for once, I'm watching BTTF 1 on Prime. It's weird wanting to watch a movie for once.

I didn't know such a thing was even possible.

Yes, thank you.

I worked out how I did it, but I found it funny too, once I wiped my eye out.

And yes, there was some coffee on the spoon.  I was aiming for my mouth at the time.

I just found where the mosquitos have been sneaking into my room from..

The ductless air conditioners they use here have copper compressor pipes that run outside the room..

And there's a Giant 3 inch hole drilled straight through the concrete wall..

However, the end cap still has gaps, which is where the mosquitoes were getting in from..

Plugged the hole with 2 sheets of balled up printer paper..

Today I learned to never use a 35 foot HDMI cable.

You need either a very thick cable,  OR get one of those "Redmere" cables..  They got this "booster" circuit inside which allows the signal to go extra long on even "thinner" cables..

Alas, I'm not totes sure,  but it may add latency... again, not totes sure.

Even if it does add latency, we're looking at  Microseconds here,  not Milliseconds..  so much much less than even a single frame of latency.

Today I saw the 2nd part of the Attack on Titan film in a theater, was pretty good overall.

is the bluray out yet?
No, haven't seen any news saying a date yet either but it's still in theaters in the US through the weekend so maybe it'll be announced soon.

I got a whole bunch more photo gear from my Mom today.  :)  I'm glad she was into photography, cause some of this stuff is pretty cool.

Here's an old flashbulb we found.  I'm not sure what flash/camera this would have gone with originally, but dang I just love this filament.
