Corsair K60 sweet liquid spill
« on: Tue, 16 April 2013, 07:44:51 »
Hello,

I've managed to spill some sweet liquid on my Corsair K60 keyboard. After disconnecting it, removing any inside excess liquid and letting it to dry for 2 days everything is working fine except 2 of the keys (S and D) that seem "sticky" and don't feel the same as the others.

What should I do to fix this? since the warranty is void in this case.

I've used a bit of circuit spray on the mechanical switches but with no result.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I recommend switching the switches on S and D.

I'm not sure what kind of case this is but what I would end up doing is ordering two new keys (find out what's in there-PCB mount or plate-mount, MX Browns or reds or blues or whatever) and de-solder the messed-up switches and install some new ones.

Alternatively you can try to open the switches and clean them, but in many cases this requires desoldering anyway.

Buy a bag of 10 switches from WASD, and replace them..

THIS saves SO MUCH TIME... vs cleaning.
