Random Question about Refrigerators
« on: Wed, 04 September 2013, 08:29:18 »
Hi guys,

I'm having a minor issue and I figured someone on here would likely know. I recently got a mini fridge (less time AFK! :D) however I noticed something recently.

Whenever the compressor starts it has a small click, which I assume is normal as it'll be the start / stop relay picking. However when the compressor shuts off there is a significantly louder click. It only makes the louder click when the compressor naturally shuts itself off, if I switch off the fridge at the plug it doesn't do it.

Anybody know if this is normal or if I should get a replacement? (It's brand new so i'd just take it to store for another one)

Thanks :3

*Note, the sound when it shuts off is hard to explain, it sounds like a mixture of a metallic click (Maybe a little like metal hitting metal) and escaping air. It's weird.*

Doesn't get much use these days since I've moved to the ErgoDox. However, I type on it occasionally and it still feels as good as new, and makes me long for a Topre ErgoDox

releasing back pressure so that if it needs to restart the compressor sooner/ as needed. as in right after you open it and stare blankly deciding whether you should be a fattie and eat that pie.

Window ac units say you can't restart for 3mins, because it doesn't have the valve to release the pressure once the compressor has turned off.

It could be other things though..

Yup, totally normal.  You are just not used to sitting there and hearing it all the time.  A lot of times, you will hear a metallic ring in addition to the click.
wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2

Really? is pumpkin pie a 'murican thing? didn't know that..

If you're going to try coolwhip, make sure to follow the thaw'ing instructions on the bucket.. It's important
