The Monster in us all..
« on: Fri, 21 November 2014, 20:55:43 »
So you open up a tube of Ritz cookies.. 30x per tube

Right then and there, you say... I am going to just eat 5 cookies.. that's it...

Then you get to 5 in all of 8 seconds.. and you're like.. 10... but then I'm putting this down..

Then @ 10...  you strike the HALF bargin, I'll just eat half.. which is 15/30 cookies..

Then @ 15... you say... i'll just eat 5 more.. and save 10 for later when I get hungry again..

Then @ 20... The Demon WINs...  ... ffff-it... I still got 4 boxes (16 tubes) in the cupboard downstairs..

it's not nearly as easy to eat a the whole tube of oreos  vs ritz...

Oreos tire you out...   you hit 10, it starts to get uncomfortable..  unless you're really Battle- hardened or pre-diabetic..

Soft sticky gooey Medjool Dates.  They make me feel simultaneously fearful of diabetes and cavities.

It comes down to self control.

But then you have to ask yourself are you a string person resisting a temptation, or a weak person denying yourself a pleasure?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
