Best Friend in the Whole Wide World.
« on: Fri, 13 November 2015, 00:59:51 »
I was asked this question today..

I answered  the Air-Conditioner..   They laughed..

Little do they know,   I meant it..   Tp4 loves Air-Conditioning

For example.  there was this associate at school, that always invited me to gatherings at her place,   I always said no..

She probably thought I was shallow and only wanted to hang out with cute girls..   The truth is,  I avoided hanging out at her place because her place didn't have air-conditioning..

I'm not in love with AN airconditoiner..

I am enamored by the "concept" of an optimal operational environment.

I've noticed that these days a lot of people modify the environment to suit their personal preference instead of tolerating things slightly out of their norm.

The problem arises when two people at the same place want the environmental conditions different (such as TP4 and that girl), and at best they avoid each other, at worst there is a battle until one wins.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

You have to be careful with the wording.

I am OPTIMIZING my work environment...    I feel that @ a certain temperature, it produces the least strain on my built in biological temperature control system..

Therefore...  By offloading that requirement..  I have more resources (whatever they may be)  towards all other bodily and mental capacities.

That's quite an interesting point. Growing up in South Africa I was used to the heat in summer. Only really sweated when doing exercise, even in 28 to 30 degrees C. I used to freeze when driving anywhere with my brother 'cos he'd have the AC going and set too low for my comfort. Moved to Finland... We keep the temps inside houses / offices around 22 / 23 degrees C. Initally I wore a sweatshirt most of the time, but got used to it after a while. Now when I visit SA I SWEAT. But again, my body adjusts after a few weeks. I'm pretty sure that you could broaden your body's comfortable temperature range by spending time in both 22 and 28 degree areas consistently. Or you may just get sick a lot... <shrugs>
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

While optimising the environment for yourself, you are DEoptimising it for other people.

From this springs conflict.
