Get paid, bro.

Still waiting... bills stacking up and rent due in a week.  Sucks, but I'm starting a new job in a week.  Wish me luck!

Monthly here as well. You get used to it. But I'd prefer weekly tbh, less chance of sitting at the end with no funds.

Several years ago, I left a job with no notice as my boss was ripping us all off. Working lots of overtime, never saw a single dime owed me. The boss dumped all the extra hours into so-called comp time which never happened. I added it up at the end of a six month period and was basically working a skilled job for under minimum wage. Left the next week and never looked back. The company went under about 9 months later. The vultures moved in and picked its bones clean.

Been a freelancer ever since and the very first thing I bring up at the start of a project is payment. That and how many people I can hire for my dept. The companies I work for will usually try to chip away at my bottom line. I understand they are in business to make money but then so am I and I ain't no ones momma. So we sometimes butt heads at the outset. It helps to watch a bunch of Clint Eastwood movies and brush up on your steely-eyed gaze.

Best of luck MaNiFeX. I'll echo what others have said. Get paid, bro.

Thanks so much for your support.  My last day is Friday.  Still haven't seen money, but they promise to pay me my back pay and PTO then.  If not, I have no other choice but to go to the Bureau of Labor and Industry and make a complaint.  Not something I want to do, but I gotta get paid!

You bet.

You might also want to check into local wage advocates. I used a similar advocate (tax advocate) last year when the IRS was holding up my refund. They gave me the run around until I called the tax advocate, basically a designated lawyer who will give you one free consultation.  I explained my situation and the guy cleared the way for my refund in a single afternoon and at no charge. Not sure if the wage advocates use that same model but it might be a worth looking into. It sure saved me from some pending bill collection action.  Good luck.

Hi All!

Thanks for your continued support during a very rough time in my life.  I finally got paid.   :thumb:  It took quitting to finally have them pay me the 4(!) paychecks they owed me.  I also got an e-mail telling everyone they weren't getting paid this week, but there will be a big payment next week and that everyone will be paid.  Not caught up, just paid.  There was also notice of 401k accounts and HSA accounts were behind and that they will be catching up to Dec. 31st, 2016 in the next month.

I'm unsure of my decision to leave, especially now that things are looking brighter, but in the end I don't think it's fair what is going on and probably made the right decision.  Any feedback, guys?

Much Thanks,

MaNiFeX

To me, it sounds as if you made the right choice in leaving, no question about it. I know, when you're in that situation, it's easy to second guess yourself, but I don't think things would have got much better, and, even if they did, it's not worth the gamble.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

Talk is cheap.  Better to gtfo and get paid than stick around until they tell you the company is broke

I don't have to. You already are a lucky bastard.
There are people here with much worse problems than you who don't whine as much.
