Nature White or equivalent
« on: Wed, 05 April 2017, 18:39:32 »
Is it possible to buy Cherry MX Nature White switches anywhere? Or failing that, is there an equivalent. I see Gateron have the Black and Yellow, both rated at 50g and linear, so either of those would appear to be the closest match?

I believe the scratchy linear clear i got with my Vortex 22key tester from Massdrop is in fact one of the new "nature white" switches. It feels to me like the 199?-2016 Black switch to me. If i had more than one, i'd send it to you but this ones already installed in my tester.

Gateron Yellow is the Cherry Nature equivalent. Gateron Yellow actuates around 50g and bottoms out at 65g. Nature white also bottoms out at 65g. Therefore, Gateron Yellow is your best bet :).

Gaterons are known to be smoother anyways, so it is a win-win situation.

They are basically the middle ground between Cherry Reds and Blacks.

What's the bottom out force of Gateron Black then, as both it and the Yellow have 50g actuation. I read somewhere the Gat Blacks feel a bit heavier than the Yellows, so I'm guessing that bottom out figure is higher?

The bottom out force Gateron Black is 70g. So, yes it is higher by a tad.

According to something I read (can't exactly remember where), the 'MX Pink' switch that was used in some Filcos is the non-RGB equivalent to Nature Whites. If I remember correctly, you can buy those individually.

No, MX Pink would be the alternate name for Silent Reds which are red switches with built in dampeners.

I thought the same. I'll see if I can try and find that incorrect source...
