Springs Springs, So Many Springs
« on: Sat, 27 April 2019, 00:04:35 »
Is there any "best" option for springs meant for swapping into mx switches?  I've heard of Spirit as the only BRAND of springs I can buy (and I've heard some nasty things about the way he does business).  Most of the springs I find are just labeled as "springs for cherry mx" with no real brand or way to identify them outside of pictures.  Another question of mine, is there any reliable way to determine the force needed to depress a spring?  Spirit springs are measured in bottom-out force, meanwhile the springs I picked up from Sentrant / Sentraq are 67g and feel much heavier than the springs in my 67g zealios.  I'm looking for something with a bit more resistance than the default zeal 67g springs, but there is a fair amount of difference among all of the 67g springs I have tried.

I'm just trying to make sense of this madness!

Most custom springs are measured in bottom-out force.

Sprit springs are good quality. But the vendor has a reputation for shady business practices like "taking people's money and not delivering the items they paid for".

Unfortunately right now the community is lacking a reliable alternative spring vendor. Other good spring brands that are occasionally available are Catweewee, TX, and Punchy. The latter is available on Taobao if you don't mind using a proxy (or you are in China).
