AOC, 2028
« on: Wed, 23 April 2025, 12:23:26 »
This is a really dangerous bet.

A woman should be president, because they are far more psychologically risk-averse. If any woman aught to be, it should probably be AOC.

But this is basically the precursor to Drump 2028 Dictatorship for Life if the democrats try to do this.

Do ya'll think America is ready? 3rd time's the charm?

I am all-in, and have my Elizabeth Warren T-shirt to prove it.

But I think that the Democratic Party should absolutely run a white male, simply because it is utterly imperative to take back the levers of power. Or at least one, or a few, of them.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Tp4 also think old white guy, AKA Bernie Sanders is the best candidate.

AOC is getting visibly chonky on Tv appearances, people listen to her now, because she's attractive,  but give it 4 more years, lots of stress, more weight gain, She might not get any better reactions than Hillary.

Society does not judge a woman's value by her intelligence/ deeds, they are judged predominantly for their appearance.

This is just how natural selection gated our mental structure.

We also have the situation where, no one hates women more than Other-Women.

Women are far more racist, sexist, machiavellian, vengeful, and vicious, because they have to be, as the gatekeepers of the immediate genetic lineage, and having to survive the violence of "men." for millennia.

You want out of that loop, then you need education + higher education + luck.   How many Americans are in that pool based on Past Voter Statistics?

I don't think it was entirely a man vs woman issue that killed Hillary or Harris, it was a perfect storm of things, mainly economy and Russian propaganda but  also a bit do Dems being tone deaf in both situations.

Can AOC win, primary her and find out. Bernie was more popular than Hillary, they sidelined him. Biden waited too long to drop out and they handed the reigns to Harris, who wasn't very popular on the campaign trail and would have lost. The whole point of primaries is to expose weakness and see who the real front runner is and in both instances they didn't bother. They also need to figure out a better way to deal with the rights propensity towards lies, Russian propaganda and our own media to focus on whoever crows the loudest. They all kinda did Harris dirty because media owners wanted Trump (which many now regret). I don't know the answer but they need to do something because they really failed last time.

All that said, no president has ever retained power in a recession and if Trump creates one he's going to face one hell of an uphill battle, IF he's even allowed to run again.

I agree with all the major points of your post, but I don't think there is any way that Drumpf will still be President in 2028. Everybody hates him, including most Congressional Republicans, and as soon as a decent-sized crack appears JDV will 25th Amendment his fat ass. And every day I wonder why there hasn't been a stroke of heart attack ....
