Help with tenkeyless choice (ISO)
« on: Mon, 03 September 2012, 02:24:23 »
Hello,

I am trying to find a tenkeyless keyboard with ISO/Spanish Layout and Cherry MX Brown switches (typing/programming) . I have found Filco keyboards with ISO Layout on http://www.keyboardco.com/ but the problem is that there is no Spanish version, the solution............easy...........buy a complete 88-keycap set from WASD Keyboards with spanish layout. The main issue with this approach is the price: 160€ for the keyboard + 40€ for the keycap set = 200€ for a keyboard (my first mechanical keyboard).

I have seen other keyboards such as Keycool 87-key for 65$ (51€) but no ISO alternative (I think).

Any suggestions please? (keyboard + shop)

Thanks.

You should search your local shops for a quick fire rapid. Also if the ISO standard has the same number of keys, you should be able to simply emulate it via the OS and not care what the keycaps say. Well that's a nice way of saying: it might be time to learn to touch type...

He is right, look for a Quickfire Rapid. Same OEM&quality as Filco, but much cheaper. Although I'm not sure if the MX brown version is available at all in europe/ISO. All I could find was black and red. Maybe it would be best to order a custom keyboard from wasdkeyboards.com with numpad, there you get the switch and layout you want.

Thanks for your answers. A quickfire rapid (iso/brown) could be great, I am trying to find a store in Europe.

The only way to get what you want is to buy either the Filco, or the quickfire _rapid_ and then buying a set of spanish layout keys from wasdkeyboards.

What about Ducky keyboards? It seems that a ISO tenkeyless is coming soon http://deskthority.net/photos-videos-f8/ducky-g2pro-tenkeyless-t3622.html

Are the rumors about a WASD Keyboards tenkeyless keyboard true?

The WASD V2 is supposed to come out in Q4 in both fullsize and tenkeyless. ANSI and ISO

I don't think the backlit version will be ISO, though.
