KBT Light with cute Anime Girl
« on: Fri, 14 September 2012, 03:32:19 »
I have posted this in OCN before, but there was no one interested in it  (except ripster)

It's a scissor-switch keyboard with customizable backlight colour. Key feel is like Thinkpad.

It also comes in English, Taiwanese pinyin, and Rune alphabet versions...

Kinda puts the backlighting on my Ducky Shine to shame.

Not bad, not bad at all :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I kind of really like that. Not so much the anime girl, well it is pretty cool, but mostly a cool scissorswitch with multi led. Anywhere possible to get these?

They're on amazon, not the custom one with girl, runes, etc on it. But you can get a normal one.

Could not for the life of me find that flikr page/image. The topic with the most information was in a subforum (now gone). There was, however, a lot of the same good info in a more accessible topic in the keyboards section.

Here's a smaller version of the picture in question, on KBT's post about it:

At first I thought there was something wrong with the picture, and then upon closer inspection, I realized that the random scribblings were actually the LEDs penetrating the keycaps and producing an image. :p those are pretty cool, wonder if we'll be seeing something similar on Mechanical keyboards!

OMG... do want for the girl and the LEDs, but don't care much for the keyboard itself.

I do remember an old thread in which megnin(?) brought up the idea of making a dyesub topre set which portrayed a whole character. It was sadly shot down due to the costs of making it, and aside from topre and clickclack(to an extent), no one can make topre keys.

We should ask mAn (The artist, I think) about getting this done in Dyesub PBT. THis sort of thing is much cooler for "3D Dyesub" than spongebob. (had to look up who that was: I don't watch that much TV.)

TheProfosist: I know it's been done for WASDkeyboards, but they can't print on the sides still, like what's seen on the zippy here. It's supposed to be a decent scissor switch keyboard.
