There was no wow factor thus far. The 1st gen PS4 graphics look like current PS3 graphics and there hasn't been any true innovation other then the planned PS Cloud. The idea of being able to play any PS1/2/3/4 title on the fly is nice, but I really don't want to buy second copies of every game I own just so it's available on the cloud. Time will tell, everything is in early stages and nothing truly impressive will be seen until devs. have a few years hands on time to really get to know the hardware and what it's capable of. Oh and f^$k absolutely everything about that share button on the controller. Thanks Sony, now I will be bombarded by social media messages every time someone stranger I met online unlocks an achievement in Uncharted. Yes, because people really give a damn about what game achievements I have.

OK, am I disappointed they didn't actually show the darn console. That was the main reason I watched the entire thing, I kept waiting for Kazuo to walk out and introduce the system but it never happened.

as long as they stay away from motion controls, motion control is a step back, and i have all three, i have the wii, the wii addon, the kinect and the move, everything feels "laggy", it's why i still would rather play old school ddr as opposed to dance central (but of course no one likes ddr anymore heh)

i could get down with the touchpad, is that for gaming or browsing? i know in japan they love to use the browser!

that friend share sounded silly at first, then i was like oh, they could control you? it's like teamviewer for the playstation now, that's a cool idea.

actually what they should do is make something like the nintendo nunchuck controller pad accessory

http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Classic-Controller-Pro-Black-Nintendo/dp/B002TLTBN0/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1361420282&sr=8-11&keywords=nintendo+wii+controller

i love this thing, it connects to the wii nunchuck and then it acts just like a controller, except that it's light, it weighs like nothing, while all the brain stuff is in the nunchuck that rests near the couch. hey i'm not a wimp but gaming for 3+ hours, the xbox controller gets heavy.

just say no to motion control, it's been 15 years since dragon naturally speaking came out on the market and it still sucks for voice dictation, motion control is the same.

Many people are saying that the presentation fell flat. But Microsoft will be focusing on the whole 'media hub' aspect of their console and Nintendo has the social and casual crowd covered. I think ultimately Sony made a good call steering away from the hardware, which let's face it is essentially a PC and will be out shined by actual PCs in the near future anyway. They seem to know that exclusives are what's going to sell units for the PS4, not fancy hardware or gimmicky controls. The tech demos were more impressive then the games shown, but nothing new. The Gaikai thing is intriguing, but that's still a ways down the road. I think the PS4 will be the most traditional console of the next gen, and quite possibly the last of it's kind as other companies move closer into trying to integrate together everything under the sun.

It will not be backwards compatible with PS3 games, and that really, really stinks.

Well I still don't get why the controller has a screen, they didn't show anything about that(or did they?)
They are really trying to keep other Sony products like Move and Vita alive and selling by this stupid features I don't really care about, I won't get none of them anyway. I hope they won't focus on that too much and keep it as it is, a reusable products.
I really need to see more to decide if I'll buy this one, I have PS3 which I bought just to play Uncharted and MGS4...
Hope it won't be too expensive and they put more effort in the online games and encourage new games designs rather than remakes.

You press your credit card up against it and it makes an imprint that automatically charges you for in game dlc and PS Cloud content. OK not really, it will work like the ones on the back of the Vita but with different functionality, i.e. touch control for menus and such.

Yeah, a new console and we are again in buying mode.
I think my days for buying consoles are over. Nothing wows me really. It will have surely better graphics and better online experience since that was not as good on the ps3.
What holds me back is that i am not really wowed with the games. I find myself playing more older games since they had more substance but lesser graphics.
So what will we see? More eyecandy perhaps.

Final Fantasy was always one title i was looking for, not so much anymore since the titles are getting pretty bad. MSG? Mm... the next one from what i read is more action than stealth.
With the last PS there was at least one reason to buy it. Blueray. Not this time.
So i am not sure if i will buy it this time.. maybe down the line..

But the next generation supposed to be ready for Unreal 4 engine which will be quite nice graphicwise. Got to watch some techdemos.

It needs more English JRPGs or will not buy. And I'm not talking about another set of Tales games lol. Maybe something monster hunter ish? :D

I'm also looking forward to HOPEFULLY seeing a Zone of Enders sequel which is apparently in the works. The series might end up skipping a whole generation from ps2 to ps4 :O

When has that ever not been the case?
If your a gamer you should be curious and hopeful for e3 as that's when they will show some actual games.

it really was lol... the only reason it seems so much the case with this generation is because console's have moved to be just PC hardware rather than custom hardware.

Capcom's Deep Down project looks like something you'd want to check out.

As for the PS4's graphics, I think they look pretty good. Better than what's going on with consoles now at least. The specs are impressive.
