you don't need to go to a doctor, unless you're a very young child/ a geriatric/ or an immuno-compromised person.

Contrary to the Mythical insta-death surrounding black-widow bites... It may be painful, but is far from "deadly".

Unless you're allergic in which case, you'll go into shock and probably die before they can rescue you..

Second case, could be your air way seizes up, and you'd require tracheostomy, WHICH can be performed by a friend with a knife and a hollow tube.

Yeah I went to the hospital. Didn't know what else to do, and my health insurance covers pretty much everything. Glad I did, too. Morphine really helped things out.

When I was a kid my cat MC was bitten by a brown recluse. One of the most difficult 48hrs of my life, but in the end he pulled through and lived to the ripe age of 17. He had this big cavern in his chest where the vet pulled out all the dead tissue

Apparently it runs in my family. Mom was bitten by a Black Widow, Dad by a Brown Recluse (didn't have a necrotic reaction though).
