Typing fast is over-rated. It's all about style.

elaborate... typing--with--style...

Join me fellow peasants. For we do not deserve to own mechanical keyboards but go against nature and still buy them.

Mx and topre users alike. This is our support group.

demik, my friend, you have it backwards:  the working class types fast because they have to.  I pride myself on never topping 40 wpm.  Slow and steady.  Sip of Sherry.  Type a little more.  Pop off to the club for a spot of squash.
I ♥ Click Clack.  I ♥♥♥ Bro Caps.

Does this have to be 100% accurate?  No-one else posted their error rate.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Just got my DASkeyboard blue last week. Starting to improve my speed but it will take me several months to get my speed back up. Hoping to modify with O-rings and maybe Elite landing pads. Got to get back to active finger return and short keystrokes. I hate slow typing. Interferes with my thinking.

as a show of good will towards our 150wpm+ overlords, http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51264.0 check that out.

we'll miss you when you join them. until then, free milk and cookies here!

I went over to the typing test that people show below and I managed a 62. Not great but I'll take it since it is on a keyboard that is modified (O-rings) and this is the first time typing on it. Daily practice is the only way to get your speed up.

i used to be able to type really fast when I was in school, i think i avged 135 WPM
but then again i was typing research papers and what not.

Recently i think im down to 80 or 90 mainly because of carpal tunnel that's developed on my left hand in the last 2 years.
Also affects me playing videogames.  My wrists and hand just get really sore after like 30 mins of gameplay/typing.

So, where's the line to sign up for the "under 75wpm and happy with that" club?

It starts with one... wpm.

My god, why does this club exist? Everyone knows that the ONLY reason for buying a MECHANICAL keyboard is to type faster. It's obvious that mechanical boards make you type faster, and who could even live with themselves with under 100 wpm? Ugh.
