My top record is 86, and strangely enough I hit it when I was hunched over on the floor, at 2 in the morning when I was tired, on my laptop keyboard.
In My Possession:
Max Keyboard Nighthawk X8 Mechanical Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown - Blue LED Backlighting
Wanted:
KBTalking PURE - Tenkeyless - Cherry MX Brown - Green LED Backlighting

My max WPM at Typeracer is 113, have gotten it like 20 times, and 100+ probably 50 times as well. Out of maybe 300 races. When I see I am at like 120 wpm etc, I get so fkin nervous... CAN'T HANDLE THE PRESSURE, so I start messing up and end up sub 120 always... My hands starts to shake and my heart starts to beat a lot faster. :( :(

10fastfingers is impossible for me, since I don't have control whether or not I've done a typo and that stresses me out, not to mention mindlessly typing for 1 min straight is really gay and shouldn't count. Typeracer is the real way to determine typing speed/skills imo.

SPY. GET HIM.
I've been "touch typing" for nearly 3 decades, but I still type around 60 or 70 words per minute. I think a lot while I'm typing though. It's the thinking that slows me down.

Man as soon as I mess up a word. It's over. Completely throws me off.

You gotta learn to type through the pain..

Woo, 68 WPM.  I know that when I get in the zone, I can get up to 75WPM.

I'm killing it with my ridiculous typing speed.

90-92WPM.  I think I'm gradually improving in terms of accuracy, but the speed's been the same for a long time, maybe slightly improving.  Mostly haven't needed to be faster for anything I do, so I've been content.  Accuracy is a more important factor for me.  On bad days, I can make some typos here and there, especially when coding and switching from numbers to symbols to letters.

Just got my DASkeyboard blue last week. Starting to improve my speed but it will take me several months to get my speed back up. Hoping to modify with O-rings and maybe Elite landing pads. Got to get back to active finger return and short keystrokes. I hate slow typing. Interferes with my thinking.

well it is possible that your theory is correct in the sense that someone who is preoccupied with their inadequacies "would" generally be more motivated to improve; maybe even beyond their more "secure" compatriots.

However, I believe that children are born "secure" then when you subject them to advertising campaign, thats when they form an "ego" to protect themselves..

how crazy is this crazy?

Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar, drug induced psychotic states, etc, etc, etc.  I get to go visit the whole range of crazy people.  From those who are managing their crazy to those in locked facilities because they're a danger to the public crazy.  My favorite so far is the guy with the tattooed face.  Sadly no literal wankers yet.  Someday I will see the happy public masturbator and be simultaneously disgusted and happy.  I am also told seeing naked asses is not uncommon, though I have yet to see one.

Maybe I should start a thread about the crazy **** I'll be seeing in my job.  It's one of those things where it's simultaneously sad and hillarious.

Been a few years since I test my typing speed.  I guess I can join ...

By the way, does anyone care about % errors?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Practices yesterday. Best score was 62 wpm on 10fastfingers. In French (even if I am at ease in English, I need to think a little more about how the words are written, my brain seems to first read the word and then my fingers types the word as I know him, so it's faster in French even if some letters like ç ruins my score all the time).

Accuracy is my main problem for sure lol! At least I am quick with the backspace ...
