Yeah, I don't see the user base of this monitor. Who are they targeting? Not gamers because it is 30hz and not graphic designers because of the TN panel. Strange move on their part. They should have increased the cost slightly and made it 60hz and IPS.

even just 60Hz OR IPS would have been nice.

UPDATE: I now have confirmation of the P2815Q’s full specs, and have listed them below. Unfortunately, it tops out at 30Hz 3840 x 2160 and 60Hz for 1920 x 1080.

So no reason to sell your monitor just yet :P

Panel tech: Anti-glare TN (not IPS which was previously rumored)

So yeah, this monitor just lost my purchase...

They're pretty attractive to me, i wish they were 16:10 but it's not a deal breaker at 4K resolution. 90% of the time I'm in Chrome or Eclipse so I don't need 60hz, most IT people are probably in the same boat.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Yeah, this monitor's only use is to have a large workspace.

I said long ago that it's not really much trouble to put 4 leg RGB led inside an MX switch... just a matter of bending the legs so they would fit through the holes for both the led and diode in the bottom and having led traces on the PCB for this. I will guess that is essentially what Kailh did.

A 4K monitor's only practical use for the masses is as a "retina" resolution display (1080p logical resolution).

AMD's Nano PC (prototypes only :( )

http://www.techspot.com/news/55262-amds-super-thin-nano-pc-prototype-debuts-at-ces.html

I just wish they started released actual units, would be nice to buy something as thin as a small book or credit card and use bugger all electricity.

Would be the ideal 24/7 hardware connected to some online hard drives.  Just goes to show AMD isn't dead just yet  :thumb: .

That mineral oil thing is not going to happen any time soon..

I mean... it's just NOT BETTER than AIR cooling, OR Water cooling..

Linus is the biggest BSer ever,  quiet?  that's also not possible.. they haven't invented a quiet pump yet..  and the oil can NEVER cool the pc without a radiator, so you're back to fans...

It certainly wouldn't hurt AMD to roll something like that out to compete with intel NUC.

The biggest problem I see with that Razer concept pc isn't the submersion cooling but the fact that if it did come to production you would have the most horrible vendor lock in possible. Also they may promise modularity into the future, but we all know they would release maybe 1 gen of hardware with that at best then change the interface for everything to cause one to purchase the whole system over again. If I had a desire to get something that is horribly proprietary I would rather buy the Apple Pro trashcan. At least Apple has a pretty good build quality overall and a good support system compared to Razer.

I don't get all the hype over 4K displays either. It's too early for them to take full advantage of. It will be awhile before HD content catches up and they are not good for gaming unless you can afford tri SLI Titans. Until those things change I couldn't give a **** about 4K.

I actually love the Apple Pro Trashcan, so cool to look at and it simply lets everyone know that you've got the most expensive trashcan in the office, sitting on your desk  ;D

The biggest problem I have with the trashcan is there is 0 internal expandability. If you want more storage, you're going to buy thunderbolt devices, which use a $50 cable ffs.

u can get cheaper cables... the problem is the apple can is way too expensive for the bottom barrel performance..

it's essentially a final cut pro machine.. that's it...  if you don't use final cut pro, you can spend less money and get 2x the performance elsewhere.

Unannounced mechanical switches?  Does this mean Cherry RGBs? (Supposedly exclusive to Corsair?) or maybe Alps?

(sorry if this was already posted, I haven't seen anything about this yet)

It very well could be those Kailh RGB switches also.

http://www.mechkb.com/blog/industry-developents/cherry-mx-rgb-tesoro-lobera/

Especially if the Corsair/Cherry partnership is truly exclusive for a whole year, I don't see why other companies wouldn't go and find alternatives to be competitive.

I bet you're right about the Kailh switches. Sounds like Cherry is sort of shooting themselves in the foot on this one.

Swiftech's new AIO H220X cooling system looks interesting. Hopefully they sell it at a reasonable price.
