Weird Mamma Chia Seed Drink

Anyone had these before?



Picked up a couple at Walmart months ago, and now my local grocery store has them too. It's all natural, packed with chia seeds that give it a really interesting texture and Omega 3s. 14g sugar, 120 cal per bottle, much healthier than soda.

Apparently the way it's made.. is that Orange slices are fed through a Long river of Alkali-bath,which eats away the white fluff around the orange..

Then the Orange is "washed" and tossed and added to the drink..

Yep. We try and feed those to our daughter. The little seeds get everywhere. Messy purple stuff. Tastes okay.

Yes, my wife loves them. They taste great, the chia  seeds are a little strange in texture if I remember correctly.

The stuff on google seem to say that -any drinkable liquid- is a beverage.. so If "Drink" colloquially refers to a beverage..   then a Drink is - any drinkable liquid.. YES I KNOW, a most anticlimactic explanation..

I suppose we could also add specifically that drinkable means chewing is not a requirement to ingest the substance..

I think the basil seed in drinks is similar to then tapioca bubbles, both of which are only there to make the drink less boring, because the addition themselves don't really change the taste, only the texture and mouth feel.

right, you either use it as a side add-on to the main drink/dish or you have to add flavors but I doubt the chia seeds create any special taste though, look at the bottle in OP, it's rasberry flavored.

Man talking about basil seeds just make me miss those desert treat in Vietnam I will make sure to eat a lot of them when I come back this summer

They've been loading the modern deserts with more and more sugar each year. AF least that's how I feel.
