This might be the wrong crowd but...
« on: Wed, 27 May 2015, 20:09:23 »
Do ya'llz think  we should all reconsider exercising EVERYDAY ?

Since our biology is roughly the same as it was Pre-industry, Pre-society

Our ancestors would've done something akin to today's heavy physical labor, Everyday.. No weekends.. No vacations..

Should we?

Or really unfit :(
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I've been doing this thing for myself running 3 miles/day and it's been 1.5 months so far.

-10 lbs and I feel really good :). Also less fatigue throughout the day perhaps (with proper rest).

I have been working out at least 3 or 4 times a week for the last year... it has been good, my mood is noticeably worse when I don't make it to the gym.     It is totally worth while (ihmo) to get some exercise... i wish I had started sooner.

I work out on average 6 times a week. Mainly weightlifting/powerlifting. Cardio occasionally or I'll do high rep sets at about 60% or super sets. I've gained about 40lbs some last year and feel a lot better about myself. Definitely need to do more sprints or high intensity cardio though.

Edit: For reference, I'm 6'4" and 250 lbs now.

Wieght gaining has been my primary goal, i just cant tack on mass. Recently i have been adding a whey+pbutter shake post workout and a casein+pbutter shake before bed to add 1000 calories to my day. Been eating around 3000-3500 calories a day for the last 2 weeks and i have gained a pound a week ontop of the workouts. Its been great but all this protein has really made my testorone rise.

A pound a week is actually a really great slow bulk. The raise in testosterone is great as well as it will help with muscle growth. I can talk more in south about this stuff but we should definitely move it to PMs. What are your macros if you don't mind my asking?

Macros refers to macro-nutrients which are protein, carbohydrates and fats.

I'm thinking some form of combat Tai-Chi/Taijiquan might be what I'm looking for.

You sound like me.

I started at 6', 135 lbs (skin n bones). I'm now 190 from supplements + more food and years of hard work. I did carb out a ton this winter and hit 200 lbs and had a little belly, but I easily shed it in a month by just stopping ALL carbs and riding my stationary bike 20-30 miles a day, 6 days a week. Which brings me back to OP... I always have taken 1-3 days off during the course of my training.
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

I think stationary exercise bike is the best thing for adults..

Adults have so many responsibilities,  they really need the most time saving routine.

Reduce travel time cost,  at least 45-90mins if you go to a gym.

Never heard of him but then again I  follow mainly powerlifters and bodybuilders. I definitely recommend both weightlifting and cardio. Stationary bikes and ellipticals are the best on joints as they are the lowest impact.

I'm pretty fluffy, but broad shoulders sorta hides it. Going to be living hell when I got back go work at the garage, and back into the pool after that. I swear flies are going to be following me until I jump in.

Everyday? Nah, rest days are important. I suppose you should define "workout".

Weight Training? Absolutely not.
Running? Debatable, but probably not if you're large, older or new to running.
Walking/Cycling/Swimming? Sounds good.
