It also seems to me that participating in a mechanical-keyboard forum so you can talk about how fast you type is rather like joining a book club so you can talk about how fast you can read. That's just my opinion, of course.
Reading fast certainly has it's merits, in my opinion discussing the refinement of a skill should be what brings people in a mechanical-keyboard forum at the first place. Not the endless materialistic consumption.
This isn't as straight forward..
Essentially, when it comes to speed-runs, you want to try to DECOUPLE --reading-comprehension-- from actually transcribing..
When you read the word, speedster, you have the sound parsing (what you hear in your head) speed-ster, then the hand motion parsing, -spee, -d, -ster, AND, in between all of this, you have a mental- COMPREHENSION of what speedster means, a person or entity which is fast.
The goal of ultimate speed, is to decouple the comprehension, from merely transcribing it.
The complete mastery of this, would mean typing 200wpm at length for say 10 minutes, and then at the end of it, You have 0 idea of what you've just typed..
