These lighter BKEs have actually helped me out quite a bit. The tendonitis I was having in one of my fingers has been gradually going away now. Had it for a long while and it made my life miserable. I think it was also due to all the stress I was having and all this stuff that had happened in the past.

I've had the described pain in my right index finger for a year and haven't figured out what it is. I tried immobilizing it for a few weeks, but that just made it worse.

I tried immobilizing it for a few weeks, but that just made it worse. When I went to an orthopedic specialist this year, they told me it was tendonitis of the intrinsic muscles, so it's more along the left side of my index finger on my left hand towards the base near the finger web area but also where the finger connects to the rest of the hand. I've gotten X-rays before but I didn't have any arthritis thankfully. I'm getting an MRI done this month to rule out anything else. Another doctor suspected it could be a ganglion cyst, but I still think it has something to do with the interossei and lumbrical muscles instead. I can also feel pressure and pain when I bend my finger all the way in that area. Sometimes there would be days where extending the finger would be really painful, like something was pulling on it a bit. Now I've been doing a bit more ice therapy to see if that helps.

I think what I have is reversible, it's just been a bit frustrating not having a real answer on what it could be yet. That sounds worse than what I have. Mine doesn't hurt enough to do anything besides annoy me a bit (unless I put it in a split and then try to move it, in which case, it's extremely stiff). I guess I should probably get it checked out at some point anyway.
